Teams would trade for Rondo. It's just a question of what they give up. If trading for Rondo ensured that Smith would stay this summer, and therefore their chances of landing Howard go up, it adds value to the deal. Again, I don't see the Orlando piece. Just do the below: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=agb8ky9I think if Ainge could get Horford AND Teague for Rondo and Bass he'd literally jump for joy.

If the KG-Clippers trade went through, and we got Bledsoe, I would be fine with this (I don't care where Bass goes or doesn't go -- doesn't much matter the rate he's playing).
I'd also be fine moving Rondo in the offseason, when it will be easier to do (again, only in the event we got Bledsoe, otherwise, no thanks) for Horford. I personally think Rondo should be worth more than Al, but their salaries are very close, so if Atlanta were interested, a deal could happen. No need to get Orlando involved.
I would agree with that as long as the Clipper deal involved jordan.

If this deal is on the table now then I'd support this trade.
I just don't think Atlanta would go for this deal except to team up Rajon to his chum, Josh Smith.

In a heartbeat - I wouldn't even think twice.
Hortford is a scorer, a rebounder, a shotblocker and a solid defender.
He's strong and athletic.
He's only 6'10" but then so was Perkins, and we did fine with him as our big.
Either KG or Hortford can play PF also, so I'd probably play KG at Center for now with Hortford's extra mobility helping him at PF.

No brainer, you do that deal.
We move the ball fine on offense without Rondo. Teams dont need a great PG to win. Bigs like Horford are a rare commodity and the toughness he would bring down low is something we are sorely lacking.
Dont think Atlanta would do it though.

Teams would trade for Rondo. In the real world, people have to pass physicals before trades. People with torn ACL's do not pass physicals.

I assume by the snide comment that the above is a joke. Injured players get traded all the time, and I suspect the Hawks know Rondo has a torn ACL by now. That doesn't mean I think Ferry would do it. But if he did wish to he could trade for Rondo.

I consider Rondo and Horford on the same level - guys who aren't really good enough to be centerpieces of a rebuilding team, but are great building blocks. I think they'd be good together, but I feel like it would be a lateral move at best.
that's just crazy talk. Rondo is definitely the better player and that's coming from someone that is big fan of Horford

Yup. I think this team already is a contender. Horford is an upgrade over Bass in nearly every aspect of the game, especially rebounding.
As for the future, I think Rondo is a better player than Horford. But point guards are much easier to come by than big men in the NBA. And when point guards do prove they are NBA caliber, they can be had on reasonable contracts (Dragic, Lowry, Rondo, Conley, etc.). When big men even just show potential to be starting NBA caliber, they instantly command 5 year $50M contracts (Mcgee, Jordan, Hibbert, etc.)
