Quote
Gasol, who was diagnosed with plantar fascitis after leaving Tuesday's game, could be out at least one month if the MRI on Wednesday reveals that he tore his plantar fascia, the Orange County Register reports.

Spin: Gasol will undergo the MRI when the Lakers arrive in Boston on Wednesday. Consider him out indefinitely for the time being. With Gasol out, Antawn Jamison, Metta World Peace, and Earl Clark could all see increased playing time.

So I guess that means he won't be traded now for sure. With Howard's shoulder the Lakers could have been dealt their death blow.

Not surprised, it didn't look good and he left the arena on crutches.

Is 'out for at least a month' confirmed?  There seems to be an "if" in the report.

I hope it means that the Lakers will lose a bunch of games and be out of it.  However, my nightmare remains intact that it all comes together at the right moment for LA and they become unstoppable in the playoffs.   Make me feel better about this, please.  With the C's likely out of the mix, all that's left for me (other than continuing to support the C's regardless) is the Lakers losing.

The report says he hasn't even had the MRI yet.  Just speculation.

Coach Mike D'Antoni said on a New York radio station Wednesday that Pau Gasol (foot) will be out for "a while." The Lakers were awaiting results of an MRI on Gasol's right foot, but the fear is Gasol tore his plantar fascia. The Spaniard said he felt a pop in the foot during Tuesday's win over the Nets and it could be at least a month before we see Gasol back in action. We'll update you as soon as we get results of the MRI. Earl Clark and Metta World Peace should see their values rise a fair amount while Gasol is sidelined. Antawn Jamison could also see some extended run.

At least 6 weeks.  Hopefully he recovers well.  Over the summer.

Since the Lakers pick goes to the Suns if it is 1-14 as part of the Nash trade, but the Cavs can get it with their right to swap one of their picks (almost certainly Miami's) if it is worse as part of the Ramon Sessions trade, we can root for the Lakers to have maximum misfortune without worrying that they will somehow get lucky in the lottery (especially if you think the draft is rigged).

Get well, Big Man.

I'd like to perhaps see him rest for a change this summer...maybe this injury will facilitate that.

He's played for his national team seemingly every summer...that is a lot of wear and tear.
