So anyone have an idea on when this is going to take place?

Not that I don't have the free time or anything, just want to get atleast semi-prepared.

Okay, we'll have a finalized roster of GMs by this coming Wednesday at noon EST.  Draft order will be announced shortly thereafter.

The plan is to draft teams and "keepers" beginning on Wednesday Thursday.  The draft itself will start the following Monday.

Maybe?

Curious - if you were the Heat would anyone else consider not keeping Wade or Bosh?

I'm kind of assuming that at this point Bosh is the more popular choice than Wade (to play alongside LBJ)

I'd get rid of both in favor of keeping LeBron and Allen.  Allen at $3m is such a ridiculous steal.

If you draft the Celtics, would you keep Rondo?

Reality, yes. Just entirely too good of a contract and you know, check out the playoff numbers.

In this excercise - I probably try to have fun with it and build a cast of old guys who can compete now.

You pick the talent. Then, if you don't like it, you trade the talent.

Roy,

Are we using this year's salary numbers or last? Important for a guy like Blake who makes 7 this year, 13 next.

Also, if anyone wants an OK spread sheet I'm willing to share mine. I'm just using my existing one from the summer and then adding salaries in.

This year's.

For simplicity sake, we'll use shamsports' numbers.

If a guy is selected who is not currently playing in the NBA, I will (somewhat arbitrarily) assign them a cap number.  Anybody who wants to know a cap number for a free agent should PM we or ask publicly.

Sounds good. Only issue I could see is there's a lot of players who have years that are listed as (unguaranteed) without any real specifics.

Since it's past January 10, assume everything is guaranteed at least for the remainder of this season.

Everyone is evaluated as is, just like in the CB Draft.

Though since there's no 'winner' I think players who are injured and rookies hold more value.

I thought about it but I was too lazy. Seemed too time-consuming.

Kudos for the effort.

I think Storytellers is the most accurate site. That is the one I use for the last few years. I have found it to be the best site for individual and team salary information.
