In a heartbeat, if we are in "win-now" mode, and I assume we are.
1. We get to keep PP and KG 2. We get immediate help at two areas of need for at least this year and next. (KG/Gortat is an exciting prospect.) 3.Both Gortat and Dragic are on very reasonable/very good contracts. 4. We get two starter caliber players. 5. Suns will suck waiting for RR, but will have a lotto pick and RR coming back, and he's like (better) another lotto pick. 6. RR is the bait for the Suns who covet Josh Smith.
Win-win, let's do it.

I wouldn't do that trade. Not crazy about Dragic as our starting point guard.

No.
Neither of the players the Celtics get are the building block Rondo is.
And while it makes the Celtics stronger, it does not turn them into contenders.

I am of the opinion that dragic will be a star. He may not be able to play d like rondo can ( key word being can) but he has an excellent handle, great court vision and can score the ball. He is at least active on d as his 1.2 steals per game attest. Gortat would be the best center we've had on this team in a long time. If we pulled this trade off we would be title contenders this year and set up for the future with a young core of dragic, bradley sully, gortat (who, at 27 he can help us for a while)

No -- Rondo is too valuable. I want someone Danny can build around long term for Rondo.

I don't know. Dragic hasn't shown much improvement in the last 4 years. I feel like he is pretty close to his peak right now.

Phoenix would not make that trade so the point is moot. If Rondo was healthy, then sure, but he is not so they won't.
I still think some iteration of this 3 team trade would work for all 3 teams
PHO - Smith, Rondo, Terry ATL - Dragic, Gortat, Bass, Lee BOS - Teague, L. Williams, Dudley, Pachulia, W. Johnson, I. Johnson
Phoenix picks up 2 stars to build around for apparently some unhappy players.
Atlanta replaces Teague with a slightly lesser PG, but one locked up long term on a fairly reasonable contract, adds the true center they want to pair with Horford and picks up some very solid bench/spot starters in Bass and Lee on reasonable deals.
Boston is a lot more competitive this year and has a lot more long term flexibility and assets going forward. So for the rest of this year Boston would be:
PG - Teague, Bradley, Barbosa SG - Dudley, Bradley, W. Johnson SF - Pierce, Green, Dudley PF - Garnett, Green, I. Johnson C - Pachulia, Garnett, Wilcox, Collins, Melo
Next year Boston adds back in Williams and Sullinger, and presumably would re-sign Teague, Pachulia, and maybe the Johnson's plus adds the draft pick and would be in a pretty good spot moving forward as well

Playing for a mess of an org with little continuity of players or talent. Put him with two hall of famers and a good coach and see what happens.

I was playing with the same trade, but here's the only way I'd do it.
Rondo for Dragic, Gortat, 2013 #1 pick and Celtics' right to swap #1's in 2015.
If this happened, I'd try to package the 2013 pick with Bass to upgrade that position (Millsap?).
