I will be ecstatic if Melo ever approaches the level of DeAndre Jordan, and believe me I am not a fan of Jordan's. Given what strengths Jordan has and put that up next to a developing Sullinger and that's pretty good, in 2-4 years.

I think Jordan a very limited player but he can rebound, he can block shots from the help side and he has always been a very good offensive garbageman, which, the C's could use. He would also make a good target for an alley oop with Rondo. If Melo ever reaches that level, that is a huge win for the C's. I hope Melo can do it.

Wouldn't the natural progression from DeAndre Jordan be Joakim Noah and not Roy Hibbert?

Im just hoping he'd turn into a 10-12 rebounds, 2-3 blocks per game Center and a wall on the inside. Anything more than that would be cherry on top of the sundae. It'll take a couple of years, but the tools are there, he'll eventually get it.

I also hope that the Celtics pay attention to his good shooting stroke. It'll be great if he can hit those 15-18 foot jumpers consistently.

What I meant was that Noah has been and is still an offensive garbageman. DeAndre Jordan seems to be a garbageman too.

I'm under the impression Roy Hibbert is a post scorer and can score when fed in the post.

I'd be happy if Melo ends up being a garbageman. Boards and defense and garbageman offense would be wonderful.

I don't think he has the tools to be a double digit rebounder.  He was a pretty mediocre rebounder in college, and hasn't been great (or even good) on the boards overall in the D-League, either.  Rebounding comes down to both instincts and technique, and Melo doesn't seem to have either.
