Say we win the title this year, what's next?

Do we want to and should we blow it up in the off-season? Should we add a couple of pieces assuming KG doesn't retire and Pierce opts out of his contract and returns on a cheaper deal?

How do you react?

For me, I would be more confused than ever. First, we want to blow it because we have no faith in the team. Then all of a sudden they win it all. Now what? Its clear what we as fans say if not always true. So we don't blow it up?

What are your thoughts/comments/opinions?

I react by suggesting this team should be one of the favorites for next season.

I have a feeling this thread is going to end up being another one of those "bash the team" threads.

I think as long as this team shows a certain amount of promise, the core is staying together.

Keeping the core together was not the reason the franchise fell into irrelevance 20 years ago. It was misfortune. 2 absurd, tragic deaths.

I wouldn't think about anything for a few weeks, because it would be insane if we win a title this year...not that I don't think we have the talent, but it would be pretty shocking. If we're in the hunt, that means our young players (Lee, Green, Bradley) would have really stepped up, so I don't see many changes needing to be made.

Do you really want to know? Really, honestly, is this on your mind now?  Why?

Easy.  If we win it all this year . . . run it back.

That, terrible cap management (which was partially due to the 2 deaths), and horrendous drafting.

Ainge, for all his warts, seems to have a good grasp on managing the cap properly, and is pretty good at drafting.

Well if we win the title this year I'll probably go crazy celebrating!

...Then I'll wake up and remember to lay off the sleeping meds.

Easy:
1. Celebrate
2. Start thinking about the draft and offseason.
3. Consider writing a thank you letter to DA.
4. Celebrate.

Yeah.

I think if we did win, there would be a lot of calls to move Rondo, since the perception would be that we didn't "need" him.

Getting a little ahead of ourselves now, are we?

I would think about the last run with PP and KG, then a little in the future for that core if Rondo/Bradley/Green/Sully/Melo and maybe I'd extend Barbosa!
