http://www.netsdaily.com/2013/2/4/3950178/andray-blatche-on-the-trading-block

He is actually putting up good numbers this year in limited playing time. His FG percentage is decent at 50%, with FT at 76% and 10.7 points per game in 19.9 minutes with 5.6 boards. Not so bad.

The bad thing is he needs a strong coach to keep him under control and in shape and motivated. I think Doc could do that and if we don't dismantle our team, KG could be a help there as well.

The nets want a draft pick. Seems fair to me.

Swap him with Collins, pay Collins' salary, and give them a pick. Or whatever.

Gotta do it at this point. Cash and a first rounder is fine with me, this years draft sucks anyways

"There have also been reports lately that he has been out of shape."

One of the reasons that the Nets were able to sign him for the minimum is that he ballooned out of shape and may have been close to 300 pounds last season.

Pretty incredible.

Having a bounce back year after a lost season last year, he's on a minimum contract, and the Nets are looking to give him away. Addition by subtraction?

I think that tells us all that one needs to know about Blatche.

yeah but if you can unload a bad contract, like Terry, why wouldn't you try to figure it out.  You can always just cut Blatche and save a bunch of money in the process.

Lets see him gain all that weight with Doc and KG breathing down his back! I think it is a worthwhile risk and a good replacement for Collins.

If it doesn't work out, we cut our losses fast.

If Terry was a possibility sure but they are saying for a pick.

EDIT:  Reading the source I guess it might not be a pick?  Well sure if we can pull of something like giving them Terry, sure that's possible.  I'd trust Danny and Doc to figure out if it's possible to save this guy.  Not sure how the trade works though.

This guy must have one of the lowest BBall IQ's in the league.

I'd give up a 2nd rounder for him and that's it.

Assuming the Nets don't want to give up Brooks, Teletovic, or Reggie Evans in the process, they would need to include 4 or 5 of their lowest salaried players with Blatche to match Terry's contract.

i dont want him. id rather keep our draft pick, where we have a chance at getting burke, hardaway JR, and other potentially good role players.

This is basically what I said in the other thread. Pretty sure this is a big sign to stay away from Blatche.
