Post-Rondo Celtics=Post-Carmelo Nuggets?
« on: February 03, 2013, 02:34:44 PM »
A lot of solid role players forced to give the ball to one star. Star gets removed (different reasons obv.) team is fixed to move the ball and becomes more of a team offense?

Am I really just fishing for something or is there some real similarities?

In these few games yeah, it could be made. Remember though, the Nuggets are still looking for a star player to get them over the hump.

I think this type of play is great for regular season wins, but not so much in the playoffs

Pierce is our star-est player I think.

Not a terrible comparison.

Other aspect of it is that the team without the star may look better in the regular season but can't go nearly as far in the post-season.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

What the nuggets lacked is NOT a star player - it is a closer.

We have 2 very very good closers on our team that we can rely on to make plays in the 4th quarter.
Reclaiming the NBA Throne is easy.

All we need is a powerful beast that can soar up to the skies and lay waste on our enemies. One with potential to wreak havoc and strike fear. With such a mythical being, we can take back what is ours - with fire and blood.

I hear talk that such a beast is projected #1 overall in the 2014 draft.

Even at their advanced age, KG and Pierce are still 10 times better than the Nuggets' best player

So I don't get this comparison

Not 10 times but Pierce can be 1.5x better than any of the Nugs

The Nuggets have gotten worse since Carmelo left, and Melo forced his way out of town.

Tp. Perfectly put.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.
