SF was robbed. It is now acceptable to hold a receiver from yard 5 of the pattern to yard 10+ of the pattern. Truly a LOW point for the league.
Why do they not give each coach at least one play where they can ask for a TV replay in the last two minutes and in OT?? Why would the NFL not want something like this so they don't look like the fools that they now look like.
Sad night for the NFL.

Would have been first and goal on the 2.5 yard line with about 1 minute and 40 seconds to go. Unbelievable.
As a Niner fan, thank you.
I could cry right now. That game was stolen from them, even after a beautiful comeback.
If that is how they are going to all the end of the game, we might as well go back to the days of no forward pass.
I could puke
I agree—that was a bad no-call. But let's take the whole game into consideration: if the Niners hadn't played like a JV squad the entire first half, they probably win that game easily. The penalty on their first play of the game to negate about a 15-yard gain. James's fumble. Culliver giving up that 30-something-yard reception down the sideline after it appeared the Niners would either sack Flacco or force him out of bounds. Culliver giving up that ridiculous long touchdown. Niners offsides penalty on third down, which led to a do-over on which Baltimore scored its first touchdown. Let's face it: the Niners were brain-dead in the first half (and I wanted them to win).

Yes, the Ravens were killing them in the first half and into the third, just like Ray Lewis killed those two in Atlanta in 2000.

I agree. But just because a team plays bad in the first half, DOES NOT mean that you can not give them an OBVIOUS defensive holding call. I mean imagine if a ref said that. "Well the Niners had so many other chances to win the game, we figured that this call wouldn't make any difference in the outcome of the game." The bottom line is that no matter how bad they played in the first half, Crabtree was held to prevent the TD. THere is no way to excuse that.

Tough night for 49ers fans. Four tries at the end zone to pretty much seal the win and they couldn't get it.

Pretty boring 1st half but heckuva entertaining 2nd half. AFC finally gets one back after a few years.
Remember when every year the Super Bowl was a blowout? Now a whole generation is experiencing year after year of close, tight Super Bowls.

This, they didn't deserve to win after that. Horrible play calling as well. The ravens got a well deserved championship. Flacco came through for his team. Which is more than i can say for the "GOAT" tom brady.

I guess i'm just being a sore loser here but that was clearly a hold. Crabtree's jersey was in the DB's hands. I understand that my Niners shot themselves in the foot early, but that flag could've changed the whole thing. Like Skip Bayless said, it is a "let em play" scenario, but when it's that obvious, you call it. It's as clear as Kobe elbowing Mike Bibby. BTW, Chris Culliver was was flagged on the same penalty (same play to, he had Boldin's jersey) in the 1st quarter on 3rd down, which resulted in a touchdown BTW, but they miss that holding on Crabtree? Am I saying that the refs sided with the Ravens, of course not. But they can't miss that call, just cant! (i didn't even include the Roughing the Kicker, which they said was "touching the kicker).

and Crabtree had has hand in the face of the DB and pushed off. Defensive holding is probably called if Crabtree isn't pushing off and committing offensive pass interference.

then they should have flagged both. point is, there was a clear foul (maybe fouls) and they let them play.
