Bos Sends: Brandon Bass + Pick + Cash

Mem: Sends: ED Davis

Why?

Bos sheds salary & go under the tax for next year. Bos also gets a young front court player whom is highly needed this year for this ball club.

Mem stays under salary while acquiring a contract player they could actually use to trade later. Mem trades a player they have no use for this year as they are overloaded at the front court. Mem also gets a draft pick (Bos 1st or 2nd rounder). Mem also gets cash for being such great trading partners  ;D

Works out great for both teams.

The big question is Can a Traded Player be traded again (ed Davis)?

If so, i'd pull the trigger on your suggested trade.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

think u have to wait 30 days to trade a player after he is traded
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

according to ESN Trade Machine he could be traded at anytime as long as its by himself & not in combination with other players (1 for 1). This restriction expires on March 30.

His other restriction is he can not be reacquired by the team him was traded away from if waived after being traded

Not a bad idea, I would do this trade in an instant. Should be good for the Griz too.

I do this in a heartbeat. Young big with potential and gets us under the tax hold...

But, why do the Grizz do it? They're trying to save money to stay under the cap too and adding 4 mil extra a year plus and extra year to their roster doesnt seem to fit their plans.

finally a trade thread that made sense...he was doing well in Toronto...and I doubt he gets a crack at the rotation in Memphis with ZBo and Marc Gasol, and I think the Griz wants a role player back...

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
Why would Memphis want an undersized PF who gets paid $6 million a year over a PF with potential on a rookie contract?

Just because it makes sense for Boston doesn't mean it makes sense for the Grizz.

This trade sin't for Memphis to acquire a player in Bass but to help us acquire a player we could use that they have no need for. I just read that Coach Lionel plans out using only a 8 man rotaion that Ed Davis may not be included in. If so he'll have to fight to get minutes with Pondexter.

Memphis does this trade to help us now which helps them later.

Bos: Trade = Young Big With potential. Good prospect for K.G. to work with.

Mem: Trade = A draft pick, Cash & flexibility to trade or keep Bass contract. Most likely trade it.

The most fitting of this trade may include a 3rd team.

I don't see the Grizz doing it.  I think this is a fantasy trade.  I too, would not mind acquiring him but I don't think Bass would do it.

How is that good for the Griz?  They trade a better, younger, cheaper player with more potentail for an under performing (this year), bad rebounding guy.

Works for Boston, doesn't work for the Griz.

Swapping Terry for Austin Daye and the 2013 Toronto 2nd rounder make more sense for both teams, IMO.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Because, as the OP stated already, they are already stacked in the front court. They are also going to begin implementing an 8-man rotation.

They get a pick and a role player who will actually be satisfied with around 10 mpg, less in the playoffs.

Ed Davis is a good player with a lot of potential, but Memphis does not have the means to showcase his talent.
I like Marcus Smart
