I think it has no effect. The only factors that matter now are what can we get in return for Pierce and will Pierce want to go to that team. We are not contending, so it doesn't matter if we can replace Piece's play this year or not.

No. Green's play is irrelevant in assessing Pierce's trade value.

This exactly.

I love Greens play but it's really irrelevant.

we are contending. we can beat the miami heat with or without rondo.

Why? D-wades game has dropped dramatically, and avery bradley just re-emphasizes that everytime we play.

Unless LeBron goes down, or KG and Pierce turn back the clock, we can't beat Miami in a seven-game series.

Jeff Green's play has very little effect on my willingness to trade Pierce.  Trading Pierce is a move for the future at the expense of the present.  There's no illusion that Green could maintain the status quo if he stepped into a starting role.

No because even if he ends up scoring like Pierce 2 things we need now more than anything is rebounding and playmaking (and leading) and that isn't something Green is doing anytime soon.

Jeff Green in the end of it all could be a valuable 6th man type vs full out starter

Green def has skills to be a starter but his value off the bench is greater, bc he can fill in for multiple positions. Also the less pressure he has felt, the better he has played.

We need to worry about filling in for Pierce after this/next season. Hopefully we can grab a steal on the draft

I am still confused why Doc doesn't start Green and bench Pierce

Even if you thought Green was better than Pierce, we would need Pierce's passing in the first unit.

No, his recent play has been good, but he's always been good against bum/terrible teams.

"Game 4: 4 minutes 28 seconds 87-81
Game 5:2 minutes 28 seconds 84-81
These are scores in the 4th period and time left in Games 4 and 5 in 2011 versus the Heat. The Celtics were ahead in both games and Rondo was hurt, playing with one arm."  -Pearl 131  So close, yet so far.
