It's been the discussion with my friends over a drink (well, they had drinks). I thought it would be an interesting discussion here as well (something to kill time with).

So we are debating, if current NBA pros play for their respective schools, which school would triumph?

Of course, the common answers I heard from friends are Kentucky, Duke and Kansas. One said UCLA. Another said UCONN. I disagreed and said Florida will beat everyone.

Just for the sake of fun discussions, who do you think would win the National Championship if the pros come back to their respective schools and play in the Tournament?

(all I know is Al Horford, Mike Miller, Joakim Noah, Udonis Haslem, Chandler Parsons, David Lee, Bradley Beal, Corey Brewer, Marreese Speights would be unstopable).

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
I think UCONN has a great balance of young (Kemba, Gay, Lamb) and old/veteran presence (Ray, Rip, Ben Gordon).  I don't think they have much size, though.  Thabeet played there, right?

Yeah, he did.

UCONN is probably a solid threat here. Add Caron Butler and Emeka Okafor to the vets, and Andre Drummond to the young guys.

Yeah they are dangerous. I still think Florida's bigs would kill them.

I just looked it up and saw Texas. Aint so bad too.

Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, Avery Bradley, DJ Augustin, Damion James, Maurice Evans, Tristan Thompson, Jordan Hamilton

KD and LMA alone, that's legit.

Augustin, Bradley, Durant, Thompson, Aldridge.  That's a great starting unit.

Could it top Beal, Brewer, Parsons, Lee, Noah (plus Horford off the bench)?

Kentucky kills'em:

PG: Rondo, Wall, Bledsoe
SG:Meeks, Knight
SF: Tayshaun, MKG
PF: Anthony Davis, Patrick Patterson
C: Cousins, Kanter, Harrelson

Too much talent at Florida's weak spots.

Noah and Horford will kill this team inside. Brewer can defend either Tayshaun or Meeks. I think Rondon and Wall would be a problem.

Meeks and Prince are the only good shooters.  That's an issue.

In terms of running game, this team wins by a mile (no pun intended).

Anthony Davis and Demarcus Cousins make a pretty formidable front line.  Rondo at the point with John Wall behind him.  Michael Kidd Gilchrist Tayshaun Prince, Eric Bledsoe.  Chuck Hayes

They may not be at the top of the list now, but in two years?

No way Tristan can handle Lee and Horford. Durant would drop 60 on this team though, but they will still lose.

Duke?

Kyrie, Redick, Deng, Boozer, Brand, Maggette, Austin Rivers.

Tons of talent, no bigs? They better play zone.

UCLA has lots of talented guards in Collison, Holiday, and Westbrook.  Love and Hollins are the only bigs I can think of right now.

Yeah they got no depth on the bigs. But theyre really deep on wings.

Afflalo, Matt Barnes, Mbah a Moute, Ariza.

Neither Noah nor Horford are dominant scorers, meanwhile the guard play from UK just kills'em.
