I think a lot of New York's struggles came about because of the loss of Raymond Felton. Their offense has looked really poor without his dribble penetration and drive and kick game. Very stagnant. Shooters not getting as many quality looks as they did earlier in the season.

With Felton coming back now, I think New York will slowly ramp up as he gets into shape and they rebuild chemistry and will finish the season strongly.

I don't care how quality the looks are, no team is going to continue shooting 48% from behind the arc.  Plus they were taking and making a lot of contested shots anyway (Melo and Smith at least).

I agree. That was unsustainable.

They will shoot a lot better than they have been lately though. simply because they'll generate better quality looks at the basket than they have been able to get without Felton.

Too much one-on-one basketball in front of a set defense the last few weeks.

All you really have to do is play a game over .500 for four 7 game stretches in the spring and you're champs.  Simply enough,right?

I found the info pretty interesting. Yes, you take it with a grain of salt. Someone, however, put some time into getting some interesting statistics, so the least you can do is show a little appreciation.

I like us against anybody out east. We will be a problem in the playoffs Rondo or no Rondo and will upset somebody be it NY or the Heat.

Bottom line is we're a .500 team and pretty much have been all season.

The difference is that this coincides with the time we got AB back, and to me that means something because over that stretch we have clearly improved defensively, and have been back to playing championship level defense.

We've had offensive struggles in between but we did last year as well.  Fact is, as long as we play elite level defense we give ourselves a chance to beat anybody.

Our offense seems to be clicking without Rondo as well (better spread of scoring) and I believe were something like 4-1 now in games played without Rondo this season.  Our defense has been suffocating with AB and Lee starting together in the backcourt, and Terry, Green, Barbosa and Lee all look more active offensively when they are given a chance to be more involved in offense.

Call me crazy, but I feel like even Pierce, KG and Bass have been playing with a stronger sense of urgency since Rondo went down. 

Sometimes adversity brings people together, and being underestimated makes a group want to get together and prove their doubters wrong.  With Rondo these guys probably feel less needed, but without him they are probably conscious of the fact that they need to put every bit of effort in if they want to win games.  Plus they probably know being traded is a higher risk now than ever if they don't pull their weight.

Either way we've been much better team since Bradley's return (one or two of our losses in that stretch were without him) and after one little 3 game streak were right back to .500 again. 

Lets have some faith people - our guys have gone further with less in the past!

eh, its all about how the teams are trending at the moment. and I would say right now we are trending up. The team is playing some quality basketball right now on both sides of the ball. and if we keep it up they wont remain in the 8th seed for long.

the reason I still give the C's a fighting chance in the playoffs honestly is because even without Rondo we have guys like Pierce/Garnett/Terry..all guys who can hit the big shots and shine on the brightest stages and produce offense in bunches when we need it.

also, our starting back-court of Bradley/Lee is probably one of the scariest defensively in the league IMO

compare that to someone like Chicago....without D.rose who do you have faith in creating offense when its needed and hit big shots?

these are guys with big game experience..and they wont go away quietly
