How about a three team trade.

Bos: Out-Terry, Draft picks
     In- Hayes, Trade exception ($5m)

Mem: Out-Trade exception ($5m)
     In-Terry

Sac: Out-Hayes
     In-Draft picks (Bos)

Only team that might hesitate would be Sacramento, but, depending on how badly the new ownership might want out from Hayes contract, they may pull the trigger.

Would be great for Boston.  Get an additional low post presence, and a trade exception to use next season (couln't use it this season as it woul put them over the hard cap/tax apron).  Sure, we lose Terry, but the way he has been playing, we could probably find a vet min buyout candidate who could replace his production.  Also opens up more minutes for Barbosa.

we can't. Unless we can get another pure guard who can create his own shots.

This would be a lateral trade.  Short forward for short forward.  We need true bigs not pretend ones.

You do realize Barbosa is putting up better per minute numbers this year, right?

Terry: 27.9MPG--10.0PPG--2.3APG--1.9RPG--43%FG--36%3pFG--1.2TO
Barbosa:  11.5MPG--5.0PPG--1.3APG--.9RPG--44%FG--38%3pFG--.5TO

Barbosa alone could replace Terry's production if given his minutes.

I doubt this is an upgrade over Bass and even if it were, it would be a mild one at best.  The Celtics would be better off looking for a third big behind KG and Bass who is an upgrade over Wilcox and Collins than trying to upgrade Bass and still have to play Wilcox and Collins.

Ideally, I'd want someone who has the upside to be a possible good fit in a big man rotation next season with KG, Bass, and Sullinger.

Yeah, at this point, the Celtics can not afford to trade Bass unless it is for a significant upgrade at either C or PF.

If the C's have the intention of still going all out this year, we need to add to KG/Bass, not shuffle deck chairs.
