I hate how every time an injury happens, we write off the team. Gosh. Without Rondo, Sully we can still go far.
Last year we lost Green, Wilcox, O'Neal too, And this year our backcourt isn't THAT far from last year's backcourt.
And plus, our front out is the same.

Take it into proportion and we haven't even lost that much,

We are just as good as last year, talent-wise.
If we don't trade, I still like our chances at reaching the ECF at the minimum.

We have many solid guys and should be able to make lots of noise in the second round and then the ECF vs Miami

One and done.

I am not even sure we can get to the playoffs.  Not only did we lose two of our top 5 players this week, but one of the teams chasing for the #8 see may have gotten significantly stronger (Detroit).

Tayshaun Prince was a pretty valuable player for them.

I think Calderon for Prince will end up being a lateral move.

Eh, maybe, but I think they DESPERATELY needed a PG.  They have been playing SGs as PGs since Billups left, and have suffered greatly.  While Calderon and Prince are pretty even players, I just think Calderon fills a need that was greater than anything Prince gave them.

Now without Prince, they can slide Stuckey and Knight over to their more comfortable SG position, and move Singler to SF, where he really can give close to what Prince can give.

Philadelphia might be a threat if Andrew Bynum comes back sometime soon.

I haven't heard when he is expected back.

Quote
Bynum can resume work on Sunday, and although there is no timetable for his return, the prevailing hope is that he will be able to play as early as February 20 after the All-Star break

Philly only 3 games back on Boston.

Why are you comparing green, Wilcox and Oneal to rondo and sullinger?
green never played a game for last years team and Wilcox and Oneal suck...that argument missing them is the reason we didn't go further last year was delusional

Voted first round exit but we could end up the 9th seed

I think they are going all the way  ::)  Seriously though, I think unless a move is made to get a solid big man, they will finish in 9th.

I think I get what is happening now. Each time the Celtics lose a player for the year their chances improve.  ;D
