Assuming the Celtics continue to play as well with Rondo as they do without him, and considering the interest in JJ Reddick, I wouldn't be surprised to see them be traded for each other.

Despite my screen name, I actually came around to Rondo because of what he was able to do in the playoffs last year.  But if it turns out we don't need him, JJ Reddick might be able to fill the role of Ray Allen better than Jason Terry has.

Long term, a starting lineup of Bradley, Reddick, Green, and Sullinger would be a very balanced well shooting team.  If we have 4 good shooters, we could afford to have a goon center in Fab Melo (or whoever is available in free agency) whose sole role is to play defense and rebound, in the way which Kendrick Perkins used to.

If we were to trade Rondo for Reddick, what else would need to be involved and would you even consider it?

No.  You don't trade all-stars for role players.

Rondo is so much better and more valuable than Redick, it's not even funny. I don't see how we trade a starting all-star player for a one-dimensional player [albeit, very good at what he does]. I am not even sure I pull the trigger on a Lee for Redick proposal...

Just considering the good play without him and their interest in Reddick, yes. It is obviosly not a straight up trade.  The question is what else would be needed to make it worthwhile?  Additional picks?  Bring in a third team for a legit big man?

Straight up?  No way, Rondo has too much value.  But given the speculation around Reddick, and the POSSIBILITY that the Celtics continue to play well without him, there is reason to think they could be the centerpieces for a trade.

That's ridiculous we should trade him for Kirk Heinrich instead

Or to transition the thread...If the Celtics play significantly better without Rondo before the trade deadline I don't see how Ainge wouldn't try trading him.  My question is what would it take?  If Reddick is involved, what else would you need.  OR what team out there is in need of a great PG that has something we could use?

I don't think Orlando would do it.  Rondo might never play again.

The problem is I can't imagine a worse time to ever trade Rondo - his value couldn't be lower. This is fine with me since I don't want to trade him...and the same goes for Sullinger. Everybody who was afraid of blow it up trades that included both of these guys should be [in a way] ecstatic.

This thread is crazy. Reddick is a role player... Probably 20 players like him in the league

Hm Orlando may not agree to that, how about Rondo for Big Baby? We can throw in Sullinger too.

Go home, you are drunk.
