[dang]. I'm not surprised. But [dang]. That's a hit.

I met him on Tuesday, the day before he left the Sac game with the injury, at a charity signing, talked to him for a bit, complemented his game, called him a future all sar, blah blah great season blah blah.

I took a picture with him, and asked if I could post up on him for the picture, and he obliged.

I'm sorry guys, I can't help but feel as if this is my fault.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Yeah, your unorthodox post technique clearly caused him to contort into an awkward position, damaging his back.

But you're absolved, assuming you didn't do the same thing to Rondo last week.

This explains Melo being called up, Doc and Danny knew it probably since yesterday.

Sheesh this sucks. Sully was that bright spot with his rebounding that was HUGE for us. We are done. Danny probably makes a trade now....Bass and Fab for who? Bass and Jet?

First Rondo and now Sully. I guess Bradley is next.

We all knew this was coming.  Such a ridiculous and ready player dropping that far?  It was too good to be true.

Did people think so many teams passed on him for no reason?  Celtics were only willing to take the chance because we needed rebounding so unbelievably bad.

Good luck Sully, come back soon.  You're gonna make the rookie-sophmore game next year.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

This is so brutal. Man this is a tough year. Stick a fork in us, blow it up, let's get some future assets.

if you thought Sully was slow and not athletic before , just imagine what he will be like after the surgery. His only role in the NBA is to be a banger, doubt he has a very long career after this....

I think I'll wait till I hear the nature of the surgery and the recovery prognosis before drifting into 'career over' depression over this.   Maybe this is an OK in the long run thing.  Yes, I doubt it too.

Unfortunately, we are still too talented to fall to top 5 in the draft unless we go full blow-up fast.   If Rondo and Sully can both come back 100% they are 2 very good pieces.  Of course, they are now lost as trade chips.

Another really sad Celtics day.   I would think that Danny's mindset would have to be completely changed by this.  It's now about trading for tomorrow.

Ainge should be fired for picking this guy. He was damaged goods and now he is toast. Once your back goes it is gone forever. Particularly when you are built like Sullinger is.

Totally wasted draft: Sullinger is already hurt and Melo can not play the game. Well done Celtic scouting department and "Brain Trust".

Should Doc have limited his minutes and gave him off days? :-\

I guess this was going to happen sooner or later.
