These guys are best friends and i'm sure want to play sooner or later. Smith ideally has gushed indirectly that he wants to play for the celts org with its great fans.

But i personally don't see Danny giving this guy the money he wants.

IF things just keep going with our lineup and we do impossible things like beat Miami out of the east, then Rondo should go for the best of everyone. So my trade idea

To PHX: Rondo, Bass, Fab Melo
To Bos: Gortat, Jared Dudley, Dragic, 1st round pick

Bos 2013 lineup

Starting :Gortat, KG, Pierce, AB, Lee
Bench    :Sullinger,Green, Dudley, Dragic, Terry

Phx 2013 lineup

Starting: Melo, Smith, Tucker, Brown, Rondo
Bench   : Telfair, Marshall, Scola, Beasly, Bass

Rondo is no ordinary athlete. He will recover 100 percent next year and still be speedy as usual.

I'm not sure that Fab Melo is ever going to start for anyone in this league.

yes they are the suns' 2 best players... but they are also goran dragic and marcin gortat.

i can't imagine phoenix would turn that down.  i don't think there's a chance boston agrees to that deal.  talent-wise, that deal is a total steal for phoenix.

Rondo alone is worth what you have PHX giving us! No sir! Pass!

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celtics)"-Lady GaGa (teehee)

If the Celtics turn out to be better without Rondo then his value will bottom out.

Combine that with his difficult personality and you get a amnesty candidate. 10 million+ annual could get you a impact big man this offseason.

First of all if you read the rumor about Smith, Gortat would be the key or at least one of the keys to the trade for the Hawks.  So he can't be traded twice.

If Rondo and Josh Smith are on the same team, that team will be horrible. Their teammates will all hate them, and neither of them can shoot but both demand the ball. I hope if it happens it's not as members of the celtics.

Exactly what they said about Tracy McGrady and Grant Hill :s

"Game 4: 4 minutes 28 seconds 87-81
Game 5:2 minutes 28 seconds 84-81
These are scores in the 4th period and time left in Games 4 and 5 in 2011 versus the Heat. The Celtics were ahead in both games and Rondo was hurt, playing with one arm."  -Pearl 131  So close, yet so far.

Meh, they've also said it about a lot of guys who bounced back better than ever. Chris Paul comes to mind.

nobody is trading for Rondo at this point.  He didn't have much trade value to begin with and now he might never play again.  Albatross contract waiting to happen.

Disagree on two points; 1) that he never had any value, 2) that his career will amount to an albatross contract

The second point is of course unknown, but my leaning is that he'll work as hard or harder than anyone ever has to recover from his injury. Rondo's shown he can improve, and will strive to continue to do so. While he never may reach the heights we'd hope, I don't think it's likely that he gets worse because of this injury.
