So, who do we root for at the Super Bowl, the guy convicted of obstruction of justice in a murder case, or a blatant homophobe?

Quote
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver has reportedly made inflammatory comments regarding homosexuality in football just a few days before Super Bowl XLVII.

Shock jock Artie Lange revealed he had interviewed Culliver at media day Tuesday and aired a segment on his show that night, where the player insisted that any gay players would not be welcome on the team.

"I don't do the gay guys man," said Culliver, whose Niners play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. "I don't do that. No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.

"Can't be with that sweet stuff. Nah…can't be…in the locker room man. Nah."

When quizzed by Lange whether any homosexual athletes would need to keep their sexuality a secret in football, Culliver responded: "Yeah, come out 10 years later after that."

What a fool.  This comes out the same week that it was reported that former 49er Kwame Harris is homosexual.  To their credit, most of Harris' former teammates are supporting him: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/30/kwame-harris-sexuality-49ers-teammates-opinions_n_2581729.html

Knowing Artie Lange's bit, but not knowing his show at all - is it possible that Lange kind of coaxed an answer like this out of Culliver?

Not trying to defend the man, those comments have no place in today's society, but Lange is no stranger to controversy himself.  I just can't picture Lange broaching a serious topic like that without being lewd himself.

I just wish the game was played already. To me the interest level of this upcoming game is slightly above the Pro Bowl.

Rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated. I just try to grind this out one possession at a time

No, Tim Hardaway said he hated homosexuals and caught a lot of heat for it.
