Really? Sully's going to be more valuable than Drummond?
He's already as smart (if not smarter) than Drummond or any other rook from this class.
Mind you - I haven't watched every single rookie this yr, but Jared Sullinger just makes plays...gets in the right spots...hustles...unlike any other rookie I've seen in quite a while...
Drummond is using his sheer size and immense athleticism this year...Jared has none of that, but could play a bit longer than someone like Drummond.
No offense to Drummond, though - I really like him as a player.
But in Jared's case if you're smart and know the game and your limitations, you can have a prosperous career in the NBA. Jared can/will do that, I believe.
Andre Drummond is still a teenager, is already showing better results defensively and offensively than Sully, has far greater physical potential for his position than Sully and plays a harder position to fill. |

PPG is an overvalued stat. It is unsurprising that the eight rookies happen to be the top eight in PPG among players drafted in 2012.
I'm pretty sure that's how the rosters are picked. |

Barnes, Shved, Waiters and Zeller have all sucked this year. The first three are in by default, since this draft has had few immediate contributors and nobody has outplayed them at their positions.
Zeller has no such excuse. He's an inefficient scorer, a poor rebounder, a nonfactor on defense, and he's soft. Sullinger should have had that spot. I even think Henson has arguably played better than Zeller.
Overall, though, this has been a pretty unremarkable rookie class.
Wasn't there people saying this was going to be one of the best classes in a long time? Wonder what happened...
whoa- it's not 2003, but this is still a pretty impressive class. Not as much star-wise, though there will surely be 3-4 all-stars, but depth-wise I think we're looking at easily 20 guys who are sure to stick as starters in the league. |

Sullinger, John Henson, Andrew Nicholson, and Tyler Zeller are the next tier, and of those only Sullinger has had a good rookie season in my opinion. Ezeli has played fairly well at times, but he's never going to impress people who lean on stats. |

Fair point. Still, I wouldn't put him over Sullinger. EDIT: Oh, I see how I missed him - he was draft the year before and then couldn't get out of his contract overseas. I just pulled up the 2012 draft and picked the names out. |

TP for CelticConcourse, you nailed it, he doesn't play like a rookie... It's better this way, next year when Sully is on the Sophomore list, he'll feel good. Nicholson is very skilled, but he's not starting and his raw numbers are not so good. Singler and Sully should make the team over Waiters and Zeller, but the assistant coaches have a different take. Sully will be in the top 5 of this rookie class, with Drummond, MKG, Davis and Lillard... maybe Barnes and Fab Melo  good job Danny! |

I agree that Sullinger probably deserved to be in it over Zeller or Waiters, but it's not like some sort of absurdly bad decision, especially given the kind of game this is. Zeller and Waiters are both objectively more fun to watch in a game where the point is to score a bunch of uncontested jumpers and dunks.

Are you saying that Zeller is more athletic than Sully? I don't think so!! I live in NC and have a daughter that is a junior at UNC and Zeller is NOT a great athlete. He is tall. That is all.
