To Celtics:

Josh Smith $13 mil (expiring)
Devin Harris $8 mil (expiring)
Ivan Johnson <$1 mil (expiring)
Ryan Hollins <$1 mil (expiring)

To Hawks:

Deandre Jordan $10 mil (3 yrs)
Caron Butler $8 mil (2 yrs)
Eric Bledsoe $1.7 mil (2 yrs)

To Clippers:

Kevin Garnett $10 mil (3 yrs --> but perhaps retiring soon)
Jason Terry $5 mil (3 yrs)
Brandon Bass $6 mil (3 yrs)

Biggest sticking point is how much the Hawks really covet their cap space.  To those who would say that DJ and Horford play the same position, I would respond that Horford could play PF, too, and do just fine.  Bledsoe, Teague, and Williams are not necessarily totally redundant, either.  I think that could be a fine three guard combo.

The Clips get pretty darn good this year, in my opinion.  You could replace Jason Terry in the trade with Courtney Lee, if you think that makes it more realistic / palatable for the Clips.

This is a way that the Celtics could get something in return for Garnett and still be somewhat competitive this season.  Gives them a ton of cap flexibility moving forward.

This is a holocaust for us Celtic fans. May I request someone to post a pic of a nuclear bomb mushroom cloud?

Sorry but I don't want to trade KG and Pierce ever.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Not bad at all.

The Celts get a pretty good KG replacement in Josh Smith and a ton of cap flexibility going forward, something they haven't had in a long time.

As much as I love KG/Pierce, how many more times are we going to keep beating the same drum?

I have KG sentimentality too but I'm thinking that if we move KG this is a really good return on investment. If we can shed Terry/Bass contracts and get Smith and expirings that is a good enough deal for me. I'm not expecting it to come floating across Danny's desk though :)

Not a bad trade overall, but I'm not sure Boston will do that without having Smith on board next year at a reasonable price.  Also, Odom could always be swapped out for Butler (to give Atlanta more room this summer).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

So we're giving up KG, Terry and Bass for Smith and 3 backups?  Why????

So we are giving up 1 starter and what should be 2 backups for 1 starter and 3 backups (one of which is young and has shown some promise in Ivan Johnson).
