I also saw Zack Lowe propose a very similar trade and then doing a little spying around the league  ;) I saw this deal..

Boston Sends: Paul Pierce

Clippers send: Caron Butler, Eric Bledsoe, and Chauncy Billups

It got me thinking...

Eric Bledsoe is on fire right now and would become a very attractive trade asset this summer if need be. Also, Chauncy plugs in at PG and either Caron or Green start/back each other up.

They also may be interested in Bass as they have NOBODY who can back up Blake and they are playing Barnes at the four usually.

Not sure if LA does this but they need to be going all-in this year.

Thoughts?

I don't want to trade Paul, but if he requested it, I'd be okay sending him home to LA to a true contender.

Is a very good deal for us )sorry for Pierce beacuse is great player and great person). But if you trade Rondo is much better

Kind of my feelings Roy. I don't want to see Pierce traded at all but this trade and Pierce's destination would make it much better to swallow.

Plus it would give LA a pretty nice weapon.

If Chris Paul continues to injure himself, it may be necessary for the Clippers to keep Bledsoe for insurance purposes.

Between Butler, Crawford, Grant Hill and Matt Barnes, the Clips are already stacked at the 3. Can't imagine they'd have a need for Pierce.

Crawford absolutely is not a 3 and Butler would be coming to Boston in the proposed deal so LAC would be getting a very significant upgrade.

Wouldn't you consider Pierce to be a pretty significant upgrade over any of those players, though?

Yeah I guess. But if that's the case, then I say just keep Paul here in Boston. Why make the Clippers better? I still say the Celtics can make it to the Eastern Conference finals again.

Rondo in the playoffs last year:
17.3 ppg
11.9 apg
6.7 rpg
2.4 spg

I don't think so.

Also, out of Grant Hill and Matt Barnes, who can you trust in the playoffs?

Solid role players? yes...but I can see a starting line up for LA looking like a pretty sweet playoff team if you plug Pierce in.
