beat me to it https://twitter.com/celtics/status/296305685153595394I wonder if he's been called up to be available if we need him or if it is just to practice all the time he can have with KG is a bonus to me - even if he doesn't play and gets sent back to Maine

KG needs a Rondo replacement to goof on. Melo's sole purpose this year

Is it really going to destroy his development if he gets 10 minutes against some team?

He is hurt again and it is standard NBADL procedure for players on NBA rosters to get treatment with the big league team or in Boston in this case.

P.S. I bet he is not here to play, sadly:-((

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have recalled center Fab Melo from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. https://mobile.twitter.com/celtics

I'd like Melo to get some quality time on the floor and on the bench during games with KG, especially considering the possibility that KG could be dealt soon, or that he could retire at the end of the season.

Sweet, hopefully he can immediately give us some minutes against bigger teams. I would rather see him play than Jason Collins, because when Collins sucks there is nothing positive about it when Melo sucks at least he will be gaining experience.

He's hurt again? When did that happen, and what is the injury?

Strained quad I think.
The Celtics have recalled Fab Melo from the Maine Red Claws, the team announced today in a press release. The last time Melo was recalled from the D-League, it was so his concussion could be treated by Celtics doctors. The rookie big man reportedly sat out Maine's most recent game with a quad strain, so the C's may have similar intentions this time around.

Just never get the calls for playing players that Doc and Danny have deemed unworthy of getting minutes. Has anyone the Celtics have not given minutes to recently ever gone on to be anything on some other team?

Fab is probably far from NBA ready.
Having said that, he is probably better than Collins.
