I wouldn't do it, but it sounds better and more realistic than some other trades ideas posted here.

The Nets are owned by a crazy Russian billionaire who might love the idea of making a splashy trade.  The Nets considered trading for Pierce last season.

So, my proposal is:

Paul Pierce and one or more second round picks for Gerald Wallace, Mirza Teletovic, Marshon Brooks, and a first round pick.

This seems less likely, now that Teletovic and Brooks are getting playing time now that Avery Johnson are gone, but it seems like a feasible panic move if the Nets go on a losing streak.

Wallace would be a combo forward who can defend both positions.  He's younger than Pierce, but injury-prone.  Teletovic would be the stretch four with three-point range that I strongly desire.  Marshon Brooks would be....trade bait who could be packaged with Bass (made expendable by the addition of Wallace and Teletovic) and a pick to get a center.

not a good enough of a rebuilding trade or salary relief to trade Pierce
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Nets again would love to get Pierce, but don't have anything worth it for the C's to trade for him.

Especially if they want to send Wallace back who has more years on his deal.

I don't know what this would do for us.

Teletovic is 27 years old, and hasn't shown much.

Gerald Wallace is 30 and is on a $10 million annual contract for three more seasons.

MarShon Brooks just isn't that good.

The Nets' #1 will be the lesser of their own and Atlanta's pick.  It will be mid- to late in the 1st.

Is taking on that much salary worth it for us?

I dont see how this helps us either. I have always love Wallace but his style of play has significantly slowed him down in my opinion. Teletovic isnt much of a factor.

Im not sure if it makes sense for the Nets either. With Iso-Joe and Williams both being fairly ball dominant. Is there room for a third ball dominant playmaker on the team?

Clogs up our cap room for a player who isnt as good as Pierce is now. Id rather have a 36 year old Pierce than a 32 year old Crash. Plus, where does our offense come from if our number scorer isnt replaced?

Something like this wouldn't be that bad for Boston

BKLN - Pierce, Green, Bass
BOST - Wallace, Blatche, Humphries, Teletovic
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

There is no way the Nets would make the trade.  Wallace at this point in time is better than PP especially when you consider salary and age...

Why do you think Wallace is better? He's played poorly this year and is signed for more money and longer than Pierce.

My goodness, if you think Green's contract is bad, don't talk to me about Gerald Wallace's contract.  No thanks.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

If I trade Pierce, I want either cap space or a young star.

Gerald Wallace offers neither.

not to mention the total lack of appeal of giving up Green and Bass to get back a 1-dimensional PF in Mr Kardashian and Mr Scrap-heap Blatche.

I am sorry but Wallace is nowhere near as good as Pierce and it is ridiculous to think he is even better. Thats a terrible deal for the Celtics.

Blatche has played quite well and is still young.  Humphries clears off the books well before the crap that is Bass and Green, not to mention is better (at least per minute) and cheaper then they both are combined.  That move is about freeing up cap space for Boston and doing it faster all while giving them a look at Blatche and keeping them competitive while KG is on the team.

Don't understand any of these ideals! Doesn't help Boston in anyway. Only trade I would do is Terry & Bass for Humpries!
