This is clearly a move to win for this year which is what I would do if I were Danny. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a6y8qeaI think Toronto would take Rondo's contract in exchange for Bargs and they get a potential future star in Rondo. The Celtics get the players they need to compete for this year and next.

Bleh, no thanks. I'm not looking for a trade that helps in the short term.

Well if you're rooting for the team to go for it this year, which I am, then I don't think you'll find a better deal than this. And actually, I think it's a pretty fair trade for both teams to be quite honest. Celts get Fields which is a reasonable exchange for Green. At least Bargs gives you some size and you get a point guard you need for this year and next. For Toronto, they get a good player in Green, star they can promote to their fans for next year in Rondo and a potential future center in Fab Melo.

I don't see why they wouldn't. I know I would if I were Danny.

We might as well put Tyrion in at center.

They never had a chance in the first place. Compare this Celtics team to the Heat, Clippers, Knicks, Grizzlies. Would you really bet them over any legit contenders right now?

With the 16th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select Daenerys Targaryen (and her 3 dragons + 8000 Unsullied) from the continent of Essos!

Not that it matters a lot, but I think that this squad with Rondo would have matched up fine with the Knicks, Grizzlies, and Clippers in the playoffs.

Yes. Look at all the big games he had in the playoffs, figure out which of Bradley/Lee/Terry/Green/Bass/Sully you expect to have games like that on a regular basis in the playoffs this year and get back to me.

Well, if you really want to have that debate, I'd be happy to.
1.) Did Rondo ever singlehandely bring the Celtics to a championship?
Last year in the ECF, he scored 44 pts in game 2 and the Celtics still lost
2.) This year, WITH Rondo before his injury, the Celtics were 3 games UNDER 500.
3.)And to answer your question, I expect MOST of those guys you mentioned to step up in Rondo's absence.
I know the NBA is viewed as a one man show, but last time I checked, there's 5 guys on the floor, not just one.
