Liked Celtics because as a kid and a fan of panathinaikos they had same colours.. and my first games I remember was Larry against houston and against Dominique... after reggie's death I thought we were cursed.. but it was always my dream as a child that the empire will strike back from its ashes...

My Sister was a big fan. She got me into the tail end of the Russell era. She even went to Dave Cowens basketball camp and I got to meet Cowens when we picked her up.  Those Cowens teams should've won at least 3 championships but Havlicek was injured one of those years.  Those 70's Celtics were so gritty. I also have some vivid memories of the balloon game. Those Russell teams were the 1st super teams. Just so much talent. If the League only had 20 teams now can you imagine how crazy these playoffs would be?

Kevin Garnett was my favorite player. Followed him to the Celtics. Loved the city, the culture, the teams and the fanbase.
I moved the cheese.

Dang. I remember watching Tiny, JoJo White, and Dave Cowens at the Garden when I was knee-high to a grasshopper. Born in Mass, got it with the fluoride in my drinking water.

(I regret my forum name a lot. Been a while since I was in high school or college.)

as a kid, I became a fan of the Heinsohn lead teams of the early, mid 70s...just watching games on TV in Calif....Jojo, Hondo, Cowens, etc....been a diehard ever since, through the good and bad--my hatred of the refs comes from watching Tommy~!!

Well, I am a big fan of clam chowder so it only made sense to become a Celtic fan.

Grew up in a rural area with no local team. Loved watching Larry Bird and my mom was a huge fan too so we'd root for them together.

Anything new is better than anything old...ask a jerk like Mark Jackson....Unless of course you mention Magic Johnson.

I would never ask Mark Jackson a question because I can't stand the sound of his Bron kissing voice!

Well I live in California and when I was about 10 my brother would watch Laker games all the time and we only had 1 tv so I could never watch my shows. This is when I developed my hate for the Lakers. In 84 I was watching the Finals on tv with my brother and saw the Lakers playing the Celtics. Fell in love with the team right there and then. Loved the grit they showed. People always look at me funny with my Boston Celtics T on and ask if I'm from Boston and I say "No I'm just a California girl that bleeds green" I'm a wreck about tonight's game Go Celtics!

I was born and raised in Massachusetts, but honestly, I didn't really care for sports most of my life. Heck, I completely skipped out on those three Patriots Super Bowl wins because I just didn't care about or like sports. Watching the Celtics play in the 2008 season is what got me into it. After that I started watching the Pats as well, and now here we are.
