Resident in Boston?
Family ties?
Like the logo?

Personally, I become a fan during the game where Rondo played through his elbow dislocation. What heart! From that point on, I became a Celtic fan for life.

Hopefully we can sticky this or something so we can all share why we love our Celtics!

I've problem this story so many times but here it goes.

My uncle John was down from Maine when I was in 6th grade and that was 01'. I had never really followed a team as I am in South Florida and was only 11. I will say loved MJ and the Bulls just because he was so great, But didn't know really anyone else on the team except for Rodman Tony Scottie and Luke Longly. (Even had a bulls blanket I carried everywhere) But my uncle was down and we we're watching the Celtics and the Sixer, and I also Loved AI growing up. So we are watching and he asked if i liked any teams. I said i love AI but not really a sixers fan. So he said Don't like the Knicks like your dad that team is putrid. Start watching these guys. So i did. I watched Pierce (who from that day foward will be my favorite player of all time) and Walker rain threes against the sixers. Along with a great playoff run to the ECF and one of the best games i've ever watched with the epic comeback against the Nets.

So here's to my uncle John! RIP and I love ya!

After high school a friend that I wasn't really good friends but friendly enough with started to ask me to play ball with him after work and at mens leagues.

At the time I was a Bulls fan(this all started in 96 by the way) and after a short while started to hang out a lot and he would have me over to watch the games.

I'd go over for just about every game and just fell in love with the team and tradition. And this was during some up and down times as well. Not sure why but they just sucked me in and now I can't leave!! :D

I'm from Greece and when I was about 13 years old I accidentaly got to watch an NBA playoff game between the Celtics and the Pacers... yep, it was that 2003 playoffs game 4 when PP went berserk in Q3 for 21 pts and the craziest in-yo-face buzzer right on Harrington's face to shut him up.

Pierce instantly became my favorite player, and the Celtics have been my favorite team since then... I went through thick and thin with this team and now I'm as loyal a fan as it gets, although I live thousands of miles away.
But now that Pierce might get traded or retire, it's gonna be weird... he's the reason I became a Celtics' fan after all!! :-\

And he did finish...

Got a "Boy's Life" magazine when I was in the Boy Scouts.
Dave Cowens was on the cover.  I've been hooked since.

Also, the color green naturally appeals to me, so that probably influenced my subconscious decision of "bleeding green".

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
Pierce hit the GW vs. the Heat in 2010.  I've been a fan ever since.

Bulls-Celtics or Suns-Celtics?

I wish I was young enough to say Bulls-Celtics, but the game I was referring to was watched on a black and white television.
