Can't see us getting any higher in the standings now, with Rondo gone, and we may end up missing the playoffs anyways.

If we could get in, face Miami, and upset them in the 1st round, but then lose after that, would it be enough?

I'd enjoy it.

Yes -- but I don't think this team can beat Miami in a 7 game series without Rondo. Pick off a few games? Sure. Knock them out? I doubt it.

Absolutely. I'd be one proud fan if that happened.

I just can't stomach a blow up, and am accepting that just being able to enjoy the last days of KG and the Truth is the most enjoyment this season is going to bring.

Absolutely. If we can knock off the Heat in the first round (Which i personally think is quite possible) AND the Lakers miss the playoffs i will be one happy basketball fan.

If we were 8 and could beat Miami in a 7 game then there would e no reason we couldn't do the same to the rest of the east and make the finals. It would be extremely hard to beat this heat team with our currently constructed team and without rondo.

I fully acknowledge it is a pipe dream.

Crazier things have happened in sports.  Maybe KG/Paul have a "last hurrah" moment and go out in a blaze of (semi) glory.

I know, I'm grasping for straws.

Given our current deck of cards, yeah probably. Winning is the best but revenge is also very sweet.

It would be hugely successful. My concern is with Bynum coming back, if he stays healthy the Celts might end up 9th and miss the playoffs altogether.

Yes.  Beating the Heat in the playoffs would make this a successful season, no matter what happened after that.

KG and Paul arent good enough, they'd need heroics from jet, lee, avery, sully....well everyone would have to play over their head

Let them dream man. Maybe they will join us in reality some day.

I'd be a very happy fan if the Lakers miss playoffs and Celtics upset the Heat! Though we will be wasted in energy and either the Brooklyn Nets or Chicago Bulls will dismantle us. No chance of beating New York Knicks at this rate either! But let's make the playoffs first. Philly is catching up.
