Rondo played about 12:30 of basketball on a torn ACL, and put up 2 points, 3 boards and 2 assists. Kind've absurd.

Rondo, you never cease to amaze me.

After watching him play through a dislocated elbow, nothing surprises me anymore.

Me neither.  I was actually reading JM's article on espn about Rajon's injury and one of the people commenting on the article called him "one tough sob"  I think that is a fair statment. haha  I am just glad he is on our team.

I hope he dives all in for his rehab and comes back with a big chip on his shoulder.  I think getting info on other people's journey through rehab will help.  I want to know more info on how bad the tear was, and we probably won't hear that until after he competes the surgery I guess.  I really feel bad for the guy. Having his best year as a pro, and starting in the all-star game and then the blown out knee.
just sucks.

Can i ask you something. Is this what you care about the most? I really hope Rondo doesn't care about these things  first.

Statistically might be his best year and he gets his first all star game starting nod, but the team is playing 500 basketball and barely hanging on for a playoffs spot.

or course that is not all I care about.  I was only making a point that Rajon had improved and was being acknowledged by the fans as being a great player.  how is that a bad thing?  Yeah are team has been really up and down this year.  but Rondo's play has been pretty great most of the season.

So can I ask YOU something, why is it a bad thing to have two celtics starting in the all star game?  one word, relax.

I'm glad ur relaxed and proud of rondo. I'm not relaxed, bc the loses piling up was nothing to relax about. I couldn't care less if he didnt make the all star game or was having worse stats year as long as he contributed to our teams success.

Also did anyone watch Rondo's face after we won the game?? I mean what is that expression exactly.

Didn't look very happy to me.

I question rondo if its 100 percent about the team sometimes.

I saw that and thought the same exact thing initially.  Then I realized how emotionally devastating this injury must be for him so I'm going to chalk it up to that.

Man the guy is going to start in his first all-star game this year, and blows out his knee and then you question his facial expression thinking he isn't about the team???  C'mon.  The guy just got the news he is out for the year, is about to embark on 9-12 months of tough rehab.  Glad you can discern he isn't all about team from his disappointment.  what a joke.

RR is the best player on our team.  Seems like everyone forgets the heart and courage that he plays with.  People here have such a short memory.  Cut the guy some slack.  If he wasn't about 'team' he wouldn't have shown up to be with his team mates and coach.

It was an initial reaction dude.  It is very strange on the surface to see a guy have such a morbid expression on his face after such a huge win.  After I thought about it, I came to the realization that I mentioned which is the same opinion that you have.  I don't see what's such a "joke" here.

Hi action -
My comments about it being a joke, weren't directed to you, it was for triboy's initial post.  Sorry that wasn't clear.
cheers

wow, i don't really care if you think I am relaxed or not. I thought your response was pretty much trying to pick a fight.  glad that you can care less if we have all stars or not, you are entitled to your opinion.  as am I.

I had that same morbid expression at the end of the game as well and didn't celebrate the win at all... my thoughts were like "man, that team showed tonight that they had the tools to contend when they give their 100% and now they won't get their last chance because of that injury"... what a shame... I'm pretty Rondo was thinking something like that and he was absolutely devastated he won't have the chance to help this team contend for the title. He might be thinking that he has already played the last game with Kevin and Paul... this must have been so emotional for him, I cannot describe it!

And he did finish...

you are entitled to your opinion. This is why this forum is great. If the celts do worse without Rondo , i'll be the first one to admit it.

Why would Rondo look overly happy right after hearing the extent of his injury. And questioning about whether the guy who played through a dislocated elbow to help his team in the playoffs is "100% about the team" is crazy.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
You know what's weird?  It hasn't really sunk in yet.  I thought Id be in a much worse mood than I am in right now, but I'm not.

Maybe the win has something to do with it, or the fact that we weren't contenders before Rondo's injury.

When KG and Perk went down, I flipped out.  I haven't really flipped out about Rondo, other than sighing and going, "There's the season."  It's strange.

One of the first games I ever watched was Rondo's dislocated elbow game. That was why I became a Celtic fan for life.
