Well on the plus side it answers (or almost answers) a few questions:

Rondo will not be traded.

Likelihood of blow-up and build to future increases dramatically.

That's correct JoT, unfortunately...

I think a very legitimate argument can be made that this KG, PP, RR era could have easily put up 2 more titles so far had it not been for very bad luck with injuries.

2009: KG down - that team, even if thinner off the bench with the loss of Posey, was "still" incredibly dominant. That starting five, if they remained healthy, would have been very hard to beat.

2010: Perkins goes down in game 6? C'mon...game 6? I think we very well might have one that title had Perkins not gone down.

2011: Rondo hyper-extended arm, and Shaq. When Shaq was giving us just 10-15  minutes a night banging people, we were playing some of the best basketball overall since KG arrived.

2012: Avery Bradley hawking Wade "may" very well have made the difference in us sneaking into the finals. Wade basically had a layup line with Ray on him, which effected how well we could then guard LeBron. Ray was also very limited on top of that...
I liked our chances against OKC

This group is kind of like the heartbreak hotel - with just a "little bit" better luck with key injuries at bad times, I think we for sure would have put "at least" one more title for KG and Pierce - that would have been nice.

Three also possible...

Four more of a stretch but also possible...

You can't have injuries to your key guys and still get there..

2009: KG, Powe
2010: Perkins
2011: Rondo / Shaq
2012: Bradley / Ray (Our team "had it going" with Bradley in the lineup that year) it was a big loss of rhythm when he went down and again, he would have made life much more difficult on Wade - which would have allowed our defense more freedom to load up on LeBron...

why o why! have we angered the basketball gods! I feel like we became the Portland Trailblazers, always so unfortunate with injuries!

The Celtics now have exactly zero point guards on their roster.

This is without a doubt a huge blow.

I may be naive, but I'm not ready to blow it up yet.  Without Rondo, we are playing the Miami Heat to a tie right now.  The celts now are aware of Rondo's results, so I don't know what kind of basketball we'll see for the rest of this game.  This roster still has a ton of talent on it.  I really liked what I saw defensively out of the AB-Lee starting backcourt tonight.  I'd like to see what Jason Terry can do with increased minutes and the ball in his hands more.

I'd just like to see a few games before we blow it up.  Still a lot of talent on this roster.

Unbelievable... I guess the next few days are the last ones of the Big 3 era, going back to irrelevance... oh boy... :'(
