This is exactly my point. The celtics have already proven they can beat good teams. What always happens after that tho? I'm just saying we're at the point now where no one win is huge. Do we need the win? Yeah. Will it mean we're back on track? Absolutely not. Even after winning 6 in a row the celtics have proven they are still not ready to be consistent. So why would one win against miami prove anything? I know I'm being negative but I'm just telling it like it is.

I'm sorry, but you're not really telling anything like it is.  It's a looooong season.  Ups and downs happen.  We look like crap right now, but it's certainly not too late for big wins just like it's not too late for bad losses.  Unfortunately, tonight's game squarely falls in the latter category.  Time to go see if we can't start to check off a few in the former.

I feel that a lot of it hinges on Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett's ability to up their levels of play as the team heads into the playoffs.  I'm not saying that it's an absolute given that they will be able to considering their ages, but it does buoy my hopes that they've both been down this road before on numerous occasions.  Eventually, father time will catch up with them for good, but I think that there is a reasonable sliver of hope that they can keep the grim reaper of b-ball ability at bay for at least one more run.

You don't have to agree, but I see no need for your dogged insistence that everyone must see things from your point of view, or to insult those who don't.

O.K., so you disagree with me.  Just keep in mind that we've heard the premature reports of the demises of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett before, and in each of those instances, the reports were indeed premature. 

Paul Pierce was playing like an All-Star about a month ago (maybe a little less than that).  I find it hard to believe that all of a sudden his age just caught up with him for good and that we won't see some more games that remind us more of the Paul Pierce of old (rather than the Paul Pierce who's just old).  They may not come as consistently as they once did, but I expect that he has some big games left in him.

It's safe to draw conclusions about this team.

They are mediocre.  Terrible offensively, and inconsistent defensively.  They have no inside game, and they don't have enough of an outside game to make up for it.

If Miami comes out and takes a fat dump on us at home on ABC then I think Ainge tries to blow it up before some of the vets value decreases any further.

I hope we win bc I still want to see the core of this team in the playoffs. I still think its hard to beat this team four out of seven when healthy.

You misunderstood me, I'm not saying pierce will never have a good game again. I just don't think he will be consistent which is exactly what this team needs. One good game here and 5 bad games there will not cut it.

I might be alone but I feel confident about this game. I feel like Lee, Green and Sully can take advantage and outplay some of their guys. If KG and Pierce don't totally stink things up and Rondo gives us what he's been giving us we got this.
