I don't think this rumor is legit, but I think this trade—if it happened—combined with the Pierce-Gasol-Gay trade in another thread, would give us an intriguing lineup:

PG: Lawson/Terry
SG: Bradley/Lee
SF: Green/?
PF: KG/Sully/Bass
C:  Gasol/Mozgov/Wilcox

Youth and speed in the backcourt, good length, defense, and rebounding up front, just have to find a backup 3.

I for one would love this.

Boston:
Lawson/Terry
Bradley/Lee
Pierce/Gallinari
Garnett/Sullinger
Gortat/Wilcox

Denver:
Rondo/Miller
Iguodala/Brewer
Green/Chandler
Faried/Randolph
Koufos/McGee

Phoenix:
Dragic/Telfair
Dudley/Brown
Tucker/Beasley
Scola/Bass
Mozgov/O'Neal

I will take any trade in which Rondo leaves and we get good talent back.  Can't stand his overall attitude and his lack of Defense.

Cleray sounds like a promising defensive end out of Ole Miss.

Faried would have to be involved. Maybe this:

Rondo, Terry and Collins
for
Lawson, Mosgov, Brewer and Faried

Probably the least we should ask for a top 3 PG in the NBA. I don't do any deal for Rondo with Denver unless both Lawson and Faried are on the table. Even then I'm iffy about it.

Denver is not trading both Lawson and Faried for Rondo as the center piece. It would have to probably include KG

imo you can't lose kg. Pray that he finishes out his contract. The guy is just a very good role model on the court, intense, and still pretty skilled.

that would be dumb of Denver not to trade faried and Lawson for rondo, by far and away the best player in the deal..it's funny to me how little Celtics fans think of rondo and how much they over value others trash. don't want faried unless he was playing with rondo.

I know we're all just here discussing and exchanging ideas, but, I just don't understand why people do this?

By "this", I mean, concocting trades that involve Pierce and Rondo, yet still have KG included in our roster.  Do people really think KG would accept playing with a roster like the one you propose?

I don't mean to be condescending, it's just this train of thought really boggles my mind.

I'd have to believe any trade that sends out Pierce, and likely Rondo as well, would seriously make KG angry and cause him to say "no thanks, I'm done".

KG isn't just loyal to the team, the jersey, he's loyal to the teammates he's been to battle with.  Pierce and Rondo are his "soldiers".
