Maybe if this was NBA 2K, where you can force teams to do trades.

OKC laughs harder than an 11 year old listening to the Jerky Boys for the first time.

Did they luaugh when they trade Harden to Houston??  ??? Grow up man.

I'll "grow up" when you explain to me why OKC considers this. They're giving up unquestionably the best, and maybe even the second best player in this trade.

For what, exactly? Redundancy at the small forward position? To get weaker on the interior? To lose flexibility?

Are you NBA coach? Going deeply into analyzes? Why did they trade Harden?

1. I'm not an NBA coach
2. I have no idea what you're saying there
3. They didn't feel they could financially afford him and still make the profit they'd like.

No. You do not break up a championship-contending team with the best record in the league.

The sport is a bussiness man. OKC does not have Cs or LAL history @ NBA
and yet they're doing much better than either of those teams this year without that history and figure to do much. much better than those teams over the next 8-10 years with that current core.

talk about a horrible reason for breaking up the currently-best team in the NBA.  that alone would make it a bad trade not to mention that I think they'd be coming out on the short end in terms of talent in the deal too.   you can debate Westbrook vs Rondo but I really don't think you could get Ibaka for PP/Bass.  PP is looking more ancient with each passing game and Bass has been a non-factor this year.

Idea: Pierce+Rondo+Bass for Westbrook+Ibaka? Is that possible?

Only if they throw in Durant.

pierce's contract alone makes nearly every trade get turned down by other gms
add in his play as of late, bass' play, its not even a trade consideration

Lets be realistic here people the only trade that actually makes sense for both of these franchises is a straight up swap of Rondo for westbrook.  This trade makes sense for the thunder because rondo is a do everything pointguard and a pass first pointguard he would make every player on that team better and would greatly improve Durants play. The reason the trade makes sense for the celtics is because westbrook gives them what they haven't had in years.  That is an explosive scorer who can get to the basket and score at will.  Paul pierce is a great player but was never able to score at will aginst anybody.  Thats what westbrook would give the celtics.  Plus with Doc rivers as the coach he might even help Westbrook to be a more efficient scorer of the basketball, which would be downright scary.

I know there are a lot of trade ideas floated out there, but this one is just silly.  OKC is not going to trade Westbrook, or Ibaka or KD.  They just aren't.  They are a serious contender for the title this year.  The pieces don't match, and this trade would literally take them from contender to non-contender.

They traded Harden because they had to make a tough financial decision about how not to break the bank with their roster and still maintain their contender status.  The Harden deal basically assured that the lineup was solidified for the next 2-3 years.

No man.... You wrong. Harden asked for more money. OKC is not the top budget team such Miami or Lakers. So, they can trade everyone any time, if big players such Westbrook will ask to sign for more money...Imagine if Westbrook after 1 year will ask double money...The sport firstly is a bussiness!!!

I imagine the team will tell him he's under contract until 2017 so shut up and play.

AGREE...Plus ...Westbrook is much better defensive player than Rondo especially in physical defence against Lebron or Wade. He is a beast!
