I know this topic is like beating a dead horse but think he be a great fit here. Its not working in LA for him. Celtics could package a deal for him. But he is a FA. And the question would be if he would resign here. I always said he would be in Dallas for the 2013-14 season and still believe in that. So would u rent DH for a half season? Put him along side KG and PP with Rondo and this team could beat Miami and win a#18..

What do we have that the Lakers would like to land Howard is the first question.

Second, will he stay on board if we don't win a title? I've seen him throw teammates under the bus already.

(1) I think Dwight only stays if Rondo is still here. If so, I feel confident about the C's chances of holding onto Dwight Howard.

(2) They cannot make a reasonable trade offer for Dwight without putting Rondo on the table.

This year really fully soured me on Dwight.  I wouldn't want him on my team.

Lee, Bradley, Sully, Green would be the package the Lakers would start with I would think. Too much for Howard. As a player he would fit very nicely in a line up of Rondo, Terry, Pierce, KG, Howard.

But his attitude has taken a toll on me. He tunes out his teammates and his body language is terrible when he doesnt get his way. He would pull the same antics here if things weren't working out the way he wanted them too. Plus, who knows if he signs the extension to stay here. Too much talent for an unsure, max contract with bad work ethic and attitude.

I don't know about that.  A trade where Dwight and Metta come to Boston for KG and Pierce, with various other pieces thrown in as necessary, might actually work for both teams.  And with Dwight not guaranteed to sign anywhere I'm not sure how much better the Lakers could do than that.  KG and Pierce fit in with the rest of the Lakers age and would give them an incredible starting 5 for the next year or so with Nash, Kobe, PP, KG, and Pau.

It would be a hard trade to stomach, especially with Dwight a pending free agent, but I think Boston might have enough pieces (including Rondo) that we might be able to convince him to stay especially with the extra dollars and year we could give him.

Boston would also still be very very competitive this year with Rondo, Bradley, Metta, Bass, and Dwight with a nice bench of Terry, Lee, Green, and Sully.

Donny Marshall talked about the Lakers situation last night. He says that he feels Howard is the problem on that team. His low basketball IQ and inability to dominate in the post is really hurting LA. He also added that if Gasol is traded, the team that lands him will be loving life since he feels that Gasol's game is still the same, but he's being completely misused there by "shooting 3's".

I think Gasol, and not Howard, should be our target. Not only is he more attainable, but his ability to operate in the post shores up one of our biggest weaknesses offensively. We are a jump shooting team who, unless KG is demanding the ball in the post, has no one that is inside and commanding a double, which would in turn provide open looks for our shooters.

Not going to happen unless Howard forces the issue in the offseason.

Rondo and parts is not enough to get Howard.  Especially when they already have Nash.

We'd have to give up at least Rondo for Dwight. And if we're giving up Rondo, i rather take DMC over Dwight. That's if the Kings are willing to do it.
