I was going over through non contending teams who may need to alter or shakeup their rosters & this trade intrigued me very much!

Boston trades: Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green & Brandon Bass & Fab Melo

Boston receives: John Wall, Trevor Ariza & Emeka Okafor or Nene 2013 1st

This trade works in trade checker & I think Washington may get from under that bad contract if either Emeka or Nene being they play the same position & they both make Big Money so its redundant. We lose Rajon Rondo but gain a possible future All-Star in John Wall which could possibly help in attracting FA's in the future. The Celtics get their center & they can still try & contend this year being they filled their largest hole. Plus get a great defender in Ariza who can lockdown opposing teams best & slash/hit open 3's.

Washington gets Rondo & local kid Jeff Green, get from under a bad contract plus put more behinds in the seats for tge owners which is always good. I also believe Rondo would be a better fit going forward with a gunner in Beal & JG could shine in the starting lineup in D.C.

Boston lineup

PG: Wall/Terry/Barbosa
SG: Bradley/Lee
SF: Pierce/Ariza
PF: KG/Sully
C : Okafor/KG/Wilcox

Washington Lineup:

PG: Rondo/Price/Temple
SG: Beal/Crawford
SF:  J.Green/Webster/Vesely
PF: Seraphin/J.Green
C : Nene

Thats a solid core 1-2-3 for Washington also, but I feel its a fair deal both side what you guys think?

Excellent trade for Washington....not for Celtics.

Once I saw that shirtless picture of a chubby out-of-shape Wall, I lost respect for him and want NOOOOOOO part of him in Boston!!!!

I do love Okafor though!!!

I revised my trade a bit after evaluating it a bit but not much. I would still pull the trigger on this being we need some freshness on this sqaud.

Props for being one of the few trades posted here where the Cs get fleeced, not the other team  ;D

Wall is no Rondo..bad trade
I think that is the real risk in this trade in that it is not possible to know what John Wall is.  He could end up playing for years at a level equal to a health Derrick Rose or his recent serious injuries may plague him his entire career preventing him from ever fulfilling his promise.

I am not against trading Rondo in the right deal but I think there is too much risk with Wall.  Even if he is healthy the rest of his career, he has not shown enough so far to even be able to be sure that can be a star.

If you so decide to trade Rondo, it has to be to get younger, Wall & their 2013 unprotected 1st is a new building block to a new Celtics future.

I can see the logic, but this screams to me Kidd for Marbury years ago.

Lets play ideal situation.

If Wall develops into Rose/Westbrook type that he was thought to be coming out of college then the Cs make out out. I would want the pick to be unprotected 2014 not 13.

I really like Okafur for the C's right now but would not like a big trade.  I like a smaller trade that nets us Okafur in exchange for 2 of Lee, Terry, Bass, Green.  Or 1 plus an array of expiring deals (Collins, Barbosa &/or Wilcox) and future considerations (Melo or pick).

But I can't find any rationale for why Washington would take on one (or more) of our role players and their long contracts.

I would definitely want an unprotected Wizards '13 pick.

Let's suppose the wizards would be smart to make this move, as it would make them a better team.  Currently they are in dead last -- so the most lottery balls, and #4 pick at worst.  If this trade enables them to improve a lot (also they now get to add this year's top 4 pick to the improved squad) we are now potentially talking about a pick in the 8-10 range.  I know people say this is a weak class, but shabazz Muhammed and Nerlens Noel are better than anyone you're going to find at the 8-10 range next year.

A bird in the hand, as the saying goes....
