The Celtics certainly shouldn't say no.  I would do that trade a million times out of a million.  And yes, that's with open eyes about how flawed Bargs is.

I had thought of something similar earlier in the year, and I would be all for it.

I know some people hate Bargs, but he is a binky of mine.  He is a redemption project at this point, but I think he could immediately step in and give you everything Green gives you, but while playing a position of need.

I think he the type of player who needs to get on a good team that can hide his weaknesses and amplify his strengths, and the C's would be a great fit for that.

Me too. Bargnani has a legitimate NBA skill. Jeff Green doesn't. And contrary to popular belief, he's not 'pretty good at a number of things', which seems to be the story many hang their hat on.

That Bargnani hasn't lives up the expectations of a number one pick shouldn't overshadow his ability as basketball player. The Lakers would've traded for him already if not for that last year on his deal. That's not a problem the Cs have here.

Some sort of deal to move Green/Lee to LA for Paul Gasol would be good I think for the Celtics. , at least in the short term.

Lakers are refusing to take deals back longer than Gasol's for him, which is why they won't trade for Bargnani (who would be a great fit next to Howard).

Green + Lee = even longer.

I'd do either this deal or the original proposal.  If Pau passes a physical and can play for us this year (as well as ascertain if his decline is mental not physical), that would probably be the better move to make for the short term.

Bargs wouldn't be a bad piece to have but he's no cornerstone player for a franchise.

Im really not a big Bargs guy at all. But he can score and he has more moves than just go right with his head down (Green move).

I dunno I really do like Green despite his inconsistencies. He just has such great moments of brilliance but then some knucklehead games of no effort... I dont know if I could stomach Bargs though. Im torn.

I guess I wouldn't offer it, but if it happen I would accept it. Thats a good way to put it.

I wouldn't do it, but admittedly I don't like Bargnani.  We need a big who protects the rim and attacks the glass.  Bargs does neither.

Unless you think Green is so bad that this would be addition by subtraction (I don't) then I don't see how this helps us.

If we are getting Kleiza back.

Need a SF.

I made some small changes here:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bxbazeb

Boston gets Bargnani, Gray, and Kleiza
Toronto gets Green, Bass, Collins, and a pick

Definitely a sideways move but it makes us a little better and more importantly shakes things up and let's others in the locker room know that if they don't play the right way they're shipped to "no where land" like Toronto.

I like it.

Then look to move Bass for a SF.

Or maybe the following three team trade.
