EDIT: I meant to post this in Trade Rumors, sorry for my mistake.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1493135-george-karl-on-javale-mcgee-lazy-and-crazy-wont-work-in-the-nba

He isn't clicking in Denver and I'm guessing he won't make George Karl's rotation again this season. Salary wise, we could "technically" give up Bass, Melo & a min contract to absorb McGee's deal (According to Trade Machine & Trade Checker. I'm not 100% on all the details about the cap & luxury tax so correct me if that's wrong). But I'm guessing Denver wants more. They have no use for Lee, Sullinger, Green, or Terry. His attitude sounds like one that hasn't met KG yet. We always say KG's attitude and demeanor could turn garbage heap big man into successful role players, so why couldn't he turn a talented, young knucklehead into a starting caliber C. If we dealt for McGee, it would likely have to be a 3 team deal, unless we wanted to give up a lot of picks.

What is his value? Bass and Melo for McGee seems like a pretty fair trade for both parties. They get the pf they need and a very viable big man prospect and we get our starting center with a potential to get better. I am sure others are saying he is out of reach and Denver would never entertain such a deal, but he isn't even really playing anymore. He is no Demarcus in terms of value.

It doesnt say anywhere that he might be available...

With that being said, I'd offer Bass and a first rounder. Nothing more.

I only inferred myself that he would be available. Doesn't seem likely for a GM to keep a $10M a year player who has been exiled from the head coach's rotation.

I find it interesting that people are willing to float trade ideas for bigs who have no basketball IQ and who have been called lazy -- McGee -- yet they balk at the idea of trading for somebody who has some trouble containing their temper because they care about winning and their team sucks -- Cousins.

First, bleacher report sucks.

Second, really wish we could have a shot at helping him mature, but at his contact, and our pieces, and their needs, I don't see a fit or a trade.

I actually see his contract as an advantage. Teams aren't going to be knocking down Denver's door to get him and we have some larger contracts to send out, possibly in a 3-way. Ideally, it would include Bass/Terry, but Green works straight up.

I would see where you're coming from but McGee is still in Karl's rotation playing almost 20 minutes a game. He averages 19 minutes per game this year and 19 throughout January and has played in every game this year. Their starting center only plays about 5 more minutes a game then McGee...So I don't know where the exile from the rotation idea comes from.

So it took less then a year for Denver to be tired of him?

Lets rush and get that overpayed C just because he has athletic gifts and a lack of a clue on how to play the game.

I'd be happy to take a chance on McGee.

I think having Garnett alongside him would help him tremendously. Unlike in Washington or Denver where his teams have lacked a communicator defensively to help show him the way.

I think McGee would be quite successful here in Boston (largely due to Garnett).
