depressing news.  *sigh*

i am on board with your analysis csfansince60s.  but, i dont understand how danny would know birdman is really cooked.  it seems like he didnt even look at him.  hopefully i am wrong.  i liked birdman's game up until 30 seconds ago, now i hope he has a terrible season.

It is depressing.

Hopefully, however, my analysis is correct, BUT, it is wishful thinking on my part that Danny "knows" he is cooked. Once and awhile, wishful thinking can be correct....I know that you and I and most here hope so this time...despite the fact that most of us liked Birdman...just not with the cHeat.

There are definitely reasons to be wary of Andersen.  He only played in 32 games last year and averaged 15 minutes per game, and was hampered by a bad back.

Even so, we have two open roster spaces, and Andersen would add a lot more in 10 to 15 minutes per minute than, say, Jason Collins or whoever this year's Ryan Hollins is.

Still technically "under investigation", but it doesn't seem like it's a serious concern.

Looks like this is a 10-day deal for now.

I guess that he has been in Miami for a while working out.

Supposedly he had a small procedure done on his knee and hasn't been on the court since August.

"  "It's been nine months since I've been on the floor," he said. "I'm just overwhelmed to be here. They're taking a chance with me and I'm here to give them everything I've got."

Hopefully it's not much....for this year, anyway.

Don't like this at all.

It's sad that Boston did not give him a 10 day contract to see what he can do. Signing him would be cheap and would not need a trade like all the the other trade suggestions for a big man.

His skills aside, we really don't need any more injury prone big men.  We have had our heart's broken by that for as long as I can remember, and chances are if he signed with us he would have suffered a career ending injury 12 games in.  Since he signed with Miami, he'll probably he healthy and have a break put year.

IMO letting Birdman sign in Denver was one of Danny Ainges biggest mistakes. A few years ago I was so excited to see that dude coming off the bench...

Wyc probably nixed it due to the off court stuff......whether or not it's fair.

Maybe us being on Oden's shortlist was Danny's rationale for not signing Birdman. Let's hope he knows something we don't know. (I know that I am grasping at straws here.)

Won't affect this year so much, but could be big for future.

I still think Chris Andersen could have really helped this team's backup big men corps.

A missed opportunity.

I have to go with the assumption that he would be about as useful as Oden would be right now. Honestly, there is no other reason for this guy to be not have been picked up until now. I know we all like to think of the good old days when Andersen was very effective, but he must just be horrible now. His legal matters are pretty minor given other players around the league.
