I just got this from realgm

David Baumann @DavidBaumann33
As Feb. 21 #NBA trade deadline looms, sources tell me the Boston Celtics covet Orlando Magic SG J.J. Redick.

Thoughts?  ;D

I have always thought he would be a good guy to have on team.  But I can't see where he fits unless a trade is coming to open up pt for him.

Because JJ is white and we need our token on the team:-)))  That is a JOKE!!!

Maybe because JJ looks like he went to BYU and Danny has forgotten that he went to Duke.

Just having some fun guys!!  Don't mean to offend anyone.

In all seriousness, JJ would be instant offense off the bench.  What would we give up?  It would have to be one of our many guards, but who??

1. Danny might have a man crush on him

2. Danny wants better 3 point shooters? Redick: 38% Lee: 32% the Jet: 36% Barbosa: 40% Bradley: 28% hmm  ::)

Either Terry or Lee works in realgm.com tradechecker.  I am impressed with JJ's 4.5 assists and his almost 2.5 to 1 assist/turnover ratio!!!

I bet we would have to throw in a first or second rounder though.

Would love to hve Redick on this team. He's a tough player who would stretch the floor and give us the type of shooter we had with Ray, which we don't have right now with Lee.

He's not a bad long-term fit with Rondo, or even with Rondo and Bradley.

Actually, he might not be a bad long-term fit with just Bradley, if Danny is thinking of a lineup with no true point guard (a la Danny and DJ).

Short term, I don't see how getting him does much for our playoff chances., given what we already have at that position.

I would say doubling or tripling our assists from the SG position would potentially be huge!!!

Average assists this year:

Courtney Lee:  1.3
Jason Terry:  2.3
Avery Bradley:  1.3

JJ Redick:  4.5

And don't forget he is averaging 4.5 assists and only 2 turnovers.

Orlando wouldn't do that trade. The Cs would need to include a 1st round pick.

Cman,

I agree.  Terry is not enough.  However, Lee might be given his history with them as a rookie.  I think Lee and a second rounder might get it done.
