Celtics Trade - Green, Bass, Melo and Sulinger
Celtics Receive - Josh Smith and Michael Beasley

Hawks Trade - Josh Smith and Johan Petro
Hawks Receive - Gortat, Bass and Melo

Phoenix Trade - Gortat and Beasley
Phoenix Receive - Green, Sulinger and Petro

For Boston you get to pair Rondo and Josh Smith two friends who want to play together and fills a big hole for us.  Smith can play the PF spot next to Garnet and adds a new element to the team.  Beasley is a contract throw in but maybe on a good team we can become an instant offense reserve for the C's.

The Hawks get a starting Center in Gortat and can move Horford to PF where he is really tough to play.  They also get a look at Melo as a future center and Bass as a good backup PF.

Phoenix starts to rebuild around Sullinger at PF , Green at SF and Dragic at the PG.  There are two good SGs in the draft if they can get one that would be perfect.

So we give away a good scorer off the bench, a decent starter a future prospect and a jet rebounder who is gonna be awesome in a few years for josh smith?? Beasley is a cancer in this league. I used to hope he would turn out. But seriously He was basically given the opportunity in PHX to show everyone he belonged here and could be a serious threat. That never happened. So im not a fan of giving up all that for josh smith. Look at it this way. I actually think sully is going to be a better rebounder then josh smith and i rekon he could put up at least 12-18 points a night on a solid basis in a few years. Rather keep the crew together and then once Pauls and KG's contracts are up we go after a primetime Big

Josh Smith >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sully

gotta pull the trigger on this one.

Smith is greater than Sully on a blacktop playing one on or one, or even a pickup game.  But this isn't the playground, players have contracts and those contracts have a large impact on the value for the player.  Sully is cost protected for another 4 years.  That is huge.  Smith is on the last year of a deal and looking to get paid.  This trade just doesn't make any sense.

We might as well put Tyrion in at center.

It only doesn't make sense if we were trying to rebuild/blow it up.

We may have Josh Smith for 1 year, but our odds at a championship THIS YEAR are greatly amplified.

With the 16th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select Daenerys Targaryen (and her 3 dragons + 8000 Unsullied) from the continent of Essos!

Some one was calling Dany at the 3ish minute mark of the game tonight....

Probably NOT about this trade though, giving up WAY to much for Smith and a bad attitude version of Green...
