- a defensive minded SF to guard the Lebron, Carmelo, Deng, Durant, etc...
(I think Tucker can guard them quite well actually despite being a lil undersized..)


Results:
- Starters:
Same starting line up that dominated at the end of last year and has been playing well this year since Bradley came back.

- Bench:
A cold blooded playoff killer in terry
A super fast SG/PG you can score in bunches in Barbosa
A defensive specialist who can guard 2s and 3s in Tucker
A go to guy who can be the mini Paul Pierce of the bench in Beasley (see below)
A great rebounder, low post bruiser in Sully
A real productive big with size that rebounds, blocks, runs, and scores in Gortat
Plus Wilcox (pick and roll, alley oops, veteran) and Collins (defensive specialist)

I know people will see Beasley as a downgrade compared to Green.
I feel bad giving up Green and Lee but here is what we are getting when Beasley plays focused in case you guys forgot you can skip through this video:

Not ideal for either team, this makes it plausible.

Would have to be part of multiple trades for it to make sense for Suns. They are left with no center (melo's not ready)and 2 starting SFs (green + Dudly).

The C's say no.  I don't think Gortat is worth the downgrade from Lee and Green to Beasley, nor is it worth taking on Beasley's contract and attitude.

I'm very happy swapping out Lee and Green for Gortat and Beasley from a talent perspective, but that would leave the roster imbalanced. Terry/Beasley as our back-up wings is just nightmarishly bad defensively.

Need a follow-up trade.  Beasley makes Bass expendable in my book.

I'd rather have Bass battling for the C's than Beasley any day of the week.  I wouldn't even want Beasley to take on Green's role.  More like the Barbosa role.  Say no to Beasley.  He has talent, but he sucks.

Its a tough deal. I dont wanna loose green and I dont want Beasley taking his place. If they would take Bass, Lee and Melo for Gortat and Beasley I would consider doing that. Would love to trade Bass and Terry however.

Beasley is a head case no doubt, but he is also 24 years old and is actually a pretty effective scorer.  I mean if you put him and Rudy Gay's numbers side by side there isn't much difference (and per 36, you'd probably take Beasley). The risk with Beasley is the 2 more years on his contract, but it isn't like he is making 8 figures a year so it isn't a hamstringing type contract.  If you can get a guy like Gortat with him, definitely worth the risk if all you are giving up are essentially quality rotation/spot starter type players like Bass, Lee, or Green and Gortat is certainly worth giving up a project like Melo.

I wasn't looking at PER, I was looking at points, rebounds, assists, and shooting percentages.  They are astonishingly similar and given that Beasley makes just over 1/3 what Gay makes, he is pretty good value.  That is of course if you can get his head mentally there, which is a big if.

I really don't think you'd see much Beasley anyways if Gortat was on board.  KG/Gortat/Sully will absorb 80-90% of the big man minutes on most nights, leaving a small role for a 4th big, preferably a smaller, quicker type.  I think Beasley's actually a better fit for that role than Bass. He's a decent player as a quick 4.

I wouldn't want Beasley in Green's role either.  Even more inefficient and worse defensively.

You should look at defense - that's where Gay puts a lot of distance between him and Beas.

Beasley gets worse every year.  He can't even find a consistent role on a bad team like Phoenix so I don't think he should be trusted with a role on a championship contender.
