[KGs Knee]

Unfortunately, this another one of the C's infamous sand baggings.

Not terribly surprised by this.  After a nice little stretch of success, we happened upon a bad team that juat so happened to be playing well over the last few games.  The C's, predictably, overlooked them with a tough rematch against Chicago Friday.  Sure-fire recipe for a letdown.

This was a team loss without a doubt, though.  KG, Pierce and Rondo are apart of this team, so they are responsible, as is everyone.  Don't be fooled, KG gives half-effort at this point in his career occasionally too.

This isn't calling out KG. This is calling out KG supporters on the Celticsblog forum. While you may be right with all the critical comments, I only have one reply. Would you rather have him on another team playing against the Celtics?

KG has been the most consistent contributor for this team on both ends of the court, for this season and last season, without question, and you're going to call him out because he has a bad game or two?!?

Big Ticket has been huge for us this season, and is highly entitled to a couple of slow games without getting crap for it.

If this was 5-6 years ago, Kevin Garnett could have singlehandedly defeated the opposition, but at 36, it's not happening.
The Hornets are playing better basketball as of late, so, it's not as shocking as it would be if we were to play them and lose a couple of weeks ago. Without bringing in effort, we can't hope to win games and it didn't happen the last night, either.

No reason to dwell on this loss more than any other. The team has got to move on and focus on the Bulls game.

"at the least lets try, if  we can't everyone has tonights game off"

game started with bass looking like an all star, anyone who took it to the bucket wasn't met with much defense

The Celtics looked good at first, until Doc took Bradley out when his son entered the game.  Looked like he didn't want his son to be defended by Bradley.  Maybe that signaled to the team that winning that game wasn't important.    They sure played like after a pretty good beginning to the game.

Well, I don't really believe that, but it did cross my mind.

haha funny  This team is a lottery team without KG. And you picked a bad night to call him out. KG had good shooting night leading the Celtics in scoring. As far as the rebounding goes Garnett counterpart Lopez had 6 rebounds, so rebounding point is moot. Celtics lost the game as a collective. The Pelicans outplayed them in every facet of the game.

outcoached also. no coach in his right mind would allow his team to shoot bricks for 48 minutes. insanity. at least try to attack in all ways. something. anything.

Because I'm sure Doc wanted the team to brick jumpers all night... this is what happens when you have a team that relies so much on jumpers - some nights, guys will be off and the offense will stagnate.  Short of suiting up and getting into the game himself, nkt much Doc can do to fix that.

As far as KG, the only real criticism I have actually relates to the first part of my post - I think he settles for jumpers too much. He's SO good when he goes into the paint, but he just doesn't do it enough.

I disagree. you tell them to dribble drive, dish, and cut to the hoop. even post up. get in the paint.

Yeah I gotta go with you here. Doc's rotations over the 6 game win streak were phenominal. Tonight is was another what are you doing type game? Guys were clanking and you could tell they were tired from something. But he kept with them kept with them.

We couldnt score any baskets in the second half, Terry played a lot of minutes when Lee has been playing better out of the two. Pierce was in for a long stretch of time and only missed, isoed, and made lazy passes. Bradley didnt get enough minutes in my eyes. I mean try Barbosa for a 2 or 3 minutes stretch. He may have been able to end our two 5 minute scoreless streaks or whatever we had.

Poor TEAM effort. Poor coaching by Doc.

Many of you were rather quick to question my "logic" and therefore lost sight of what I was saying.  KG was a +9 and a +11 against two of the teams with the worst front lines in basketball.  That is a FACT.  That is NOT my opinion.  KG looked very old and VERY TIRED vs. Charlotte.  I was unable to see the N.O. game, but I bet he looked the same.  Guys mentioned that he had open lanes to the hoop on 3 to 4 occasions, yet he took his typical fade away jumpers.

I think KG needs some days off.

titling your thread "calling out KG" suggests an attack on him for one reason or another.  now posting a 'clarification' that you think he needs time off is a completely different message.

with Doc doiing the 5-minute spurts for KG, he really shouldn't need time off at this point in the season. 

face it, the whole team stunk last night, not just KG.  I really think if you take another look at that game, you'll find a few other players that are more deserving of being called out for their play.

perfectly reasonable to call out kg...his trademark intensity just isn't there and he's near useless for anything but a long jumper after 5minutes of run...anyone who can't take a little kg criticism?....stop making trade rondo threads everyday

no one in the history of the nba gets more credit for carrying a team with such average play.
