Why do spammers ever spam?

We're handling it as best we can, but there's no way to absolutely prevent it.  Rather, we have to see it, delete it, and ban the users.

We've got a bunch.  Some from the UK, others from Russia.  It's obviously a coordinated effort, with many of the members registering several months ago and remaining dormant until today.

Are these sleeper cells confined to CsBlog specifically or SBNation in general?

My guess is that it's just our forum.  We're one of only a very small handful of sites on SBN that have forums, and maybe the only one running SMF.

Thanks for the info...also those sites can't be as much fun (stimulating) as ours without Forums.

That's my thought.  I like what we're doing on our front page, but I can't imagine this place without forums.

I tried searching other SB fan sites for forums to get a different look at a team but came up empty, I thought every team had one like this but this is truly unique. Hands down the best part of celticsblog imo

I'm waiting for them to ironically hit this thread.

Spammers have no sense of humor.
