I just realized I definitely have to take out Caddyshack and insert the Magnificent Seven. I heard urban legends that Yule Bryner hired a consultant to count the number of times McQueen touched his hat. That's so funny to me that the ultimate stud was nervous about the ultimate Mr. Cool.

I have no argument with the people that go with Godfather over Godfather 2. The AFI did that. Both movies are excellent excellent. But how does Godfather 1 beat Godfather 2? What does it have or do that the other one doesn't? Is it just more enjoyable? Was the Miami/Cuba thing too distracting? Is 2 just less romantic and enjoyable? Less New York? What's the theory there?
Honestly, I just liked The Godfather more but if I was judging it as which was a better movie, I would say The Godfather II because of the betrayal of Fredo, Michael internal struggle with that, Michael's dealing with his wife's betrayal of him(the abortion),the ensuing separation, and how all these things effect The Family and business. Also, the flash backs to Vito's life and continuing of the saga by making a prequel and a sequel in the same movie makes, to me, The Godfather II perhaps the best movie ever made.

I still like the original more. I loved the story telling of The Godfather more and the thoroughly enjoyed the introduction and glorification of the Italian family culture in the first movie and so I like it more.

And, a movie I am sure is on no one's list but that I find funny as hell because it reminds me of the dysfunctionality of my own family at times:

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

One day out of nowhere my brother said to me "Did you ever notice the Lion King was Hamlet"?

I heard the Gargoyles cartoon was a biography of Oprah's life

this all makes sense.....2 is definitely more stressful. It's just that the flashbacks are so awesome. So awesome. It's such a hard decision.  I pushed myself to learn Italian because of these movies like when Salazo talks to him in the restaurant for like 5 minutes in Italian with no subtitles. Ironically it led me to learn other languages and Italian made an upgrade but definitely not to that level

TP for the great list!! If I had to post a top 15 list, Confessions would probably be in there... I would also highly recommend "A Tale of 2 Sisters" as a Non Mainstream Masterpiece!
