Boston sends Green, Bass and Melo

Receives Jefferson

Utah sends Jefferson and Bell

Receives Gordon and Bass

NO sends Gordon

Receives Green, Bell and Melo




I think Boston part is a bit light.  Maybe a 1st rounder thrown in there.  (only one since Jefferson could end up a one and done)


For Boston, they add the low post threat that and big man in the center when KG is off the floor.

For Utah, they open up time for Favor and Kanter while adding the potential of a top offensive SG to compliment the inside game.


For NO, they move forward with Rivers as their SG.  They add Green as their SF next to Rivers and Davis.  When Melo develops, they get the flexibility to move Davis to PF. 




Again, I think a 1st might have to go to NO.

I don't think they move Eric Gordon, they've played well with him back in the lineup. Right now, he may still be a bit disgruntled but they've got 3.5 more years to persuade him. NO has a nice, young core - the more he plays with Davis, Anderson, Aminu, and Vaquez, I think he'll start to see the potential and having fun again.

Salaries don't match in general, and with the hard cap, Boston needs the salaries to be pretty close to each other (probably within 2 million.)  So we'd need to send out about another $3-4 million.

No reason to give up Eric Gordon for role players. He is one of the best young star-talents in the league today. They are not giving him up without getting some star talent back in return.

Argh. Say no to Jefferson! Everywhere Jefferson goes a bad record follows him. Plus he is in his final year so if we wanted to resign him we'd have to dish out a boatload of cash. He wouldn't fit well with Rondo's style and he doesnt play defense.

That's why I think this might work.

it must be me but I just don't see that kind of value in Gordon--not after all the health issues he's had.  If he had been healthy all along, sure, but not at this point.

Boston is sending $9.6 million in contracts and getting back $15 million?  Or have I missed something?  If that's right, Boston, can only take back 125% + $100k, so approximately $12.1 million.  I never use trade checkers, because I have faith in my arithmetic.

Yeah, they traded away Chris Paul for Gordon... to turn him into Green, Melo, Bell?  Yikes!

I know that things change, but I think they gamble with Gordon's health here.

I could see the Hornets moving Gordon, but they would want the moon  for sure.  What if they moved anderson and Gordon, and got Stuckey, Monroe, and Granger?
