  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I think everyone knows my obsession with Sully and me wishing him to grow a couple more inches, as I think he'll be dominant at 6'11". It got me thinking...

Just for conversation (it's slow at work), for the fun of it, which player/s who's not a superstar right now do you guys think that, if he grew 2 more inches, would be at a superstar level in the NBA. Any player, retired or current.

My top 5.

David Lee - I can't imagine how many more rebounds a game this guy can have if he's 6'11". And he'll be more deadly in the post.

Andre Drummond - although it's still pretty early, a 7 foot Drummond might be the next coming of Dikembe. So athletic, long and great defensive instincts. Two more inches of length and he'll be a defensive wall for the Pistons.

Al Horford - I think this is pretty self explanatory. Horford at 7 feet is probably a top 3 Center, at least?

Avery Bradley - Why go far. His ball pressure against PG's is already elite, if he's 6'4" and will be able to defend wings as well without giving up too much length, we're looking at a multiple All NBA Defensive Team guy.

Kenneth Faried - Good Lord, the things this guy does, now make him 6'10". Yeah right?

What do you guys think?

If Rondo was D-Will's size, he'd be pretty good. 2 inches taller.

If Pierce was 2 inches taller, he'd be pretty good.

If Bass was 2 inches taller, he'd be worth a lot more too.

If Jeff Green was 2 inches taller, he'd be able to play like Blatche. Also good.

If Wilcox was 2 inches taller, with his hustle, he could be a pretty darn good center too.

Courtney Lee with an extra 2 inches would be able to guard both wing positions.

Fab Melo with an extra 2 inches...with the same mobility? Dang.

Barbosa would not be as undersized as he is now with an extra 2 inches. Same goes for the Jet Terry.

If Rondo were 6'8 he'd be as good as LeBron.

As a short guy who likes basketball, I am very aware of the benefits of being taller.

a 6'9" Paul Pierce...?

How many MVP's would he win? But he's already a superstar though at 6'7", i don't think he needs the extra two to be one.

I'm with you with Rondo, but the rest I'm not sure.

Will they be superstars with an added 2 inches? I don't know if Bass and Wilcox will be. They'll be even more valuable that's true, but I don't think they'll be superstars.

Rondo at 6'3" though, yeah try to stop that...

Westbrook and Rose.

I hate that we consider these guys PGs because they're not.  Westbrook is a horrible decision-maker as the position, and while Rose isn't as bad, he would probably be better suited playing at the 2 next to a spot-up shooter PG.  Westbrook would be considered a much better player if he was a SG.

Yeah, the dreaded 6'3" tweener guard syndrome. It seems like every name that is being involved in this category are 6'3".

Should we put Monta and Eric Gordon in the same category? Maybe Jeremy Lin too?

Jeremy Lin is better off as a PG.  Gordon and Ellis definitely.

How about Dragic and Ben Gordon? You think they'll be superstars at 6'5"?

Jason Kidd is 6'4 and I've never thought of him as a tweener in his earlier days.

Yeah he's a pure point. A big PG actually.

There are just guys where they are, I guess I will use the word "forced" into the PG position because they don't have the adequate size to play the 2.

Westbrook is the best example. That guy is 2 masking on a PG's body.

Monta was considered a PG before, but he's really a 2.

Allen Iverson is a 2 guard, but since he's 6 feet he has to be the PG.

Steph Curry is also a 2 coming out of college. Then everyone said that he'll have a hard time in the NBA as a SG and needs to be a PG. He stayed and developed the skill, worked for him. But really, that magical Davidson run, everyone will agree that Steph is a 2 guard in a PG's body.

Those names develpoed some PG skills (not Monta maybe) during in their careers, but they really are a scoring 2.

...because he has much better point guard skills than Rose or Westbrook.

Dragic and Curry are PGs.  BG is not.

That's the whole point.  Rose, Westbrook, both Gordons, Ellis - these guys don't have the decision-making skills to play the PG position.

I don't see BG at 6'5" will be a superstar though. I think at best he'll be like what Jamal Crawford is now.

Westbrook and Rose are already superstars, no need for the 2 inches.

Monta at 6'5" though, I'm really intrigued. Because he can handle the rock, man. He's athletic enough and super quick. If he's longer, he's probably hard to stop. And he'll probably be a much more decent defender at 6'5". I think he'll be a superstar at 6'5".

Eric Gordon is clawing super-stardom already before the injuries, I think he doesnt need the extra two inches.

Alternatively, if only all the competition were 2" shorter...

Sully, Leon Powe, and Avery would all have been tougher with say 3" inches.

We will probably see less dunkfaces.

Let's look t this
LeBron will be 6'6" being guarded by a 6'5" Pierce, not bad.

Wade would be 6'2" being guarded by a 6'0" Bradley, that's not cool.

Rondo would be 5'11"...

Dwight would be 6'9" (or 7"), Kobe is 6'4"

Westbrook and Rose would be even shorter at 6'1" and would still chuck shots.

Durant will be money here, he'll be 6'7" (or 8"), adequate size.
