This Rondo + Pierce + Bass trio hasn't produced for Boston today.

Problems in the starting lineup.

A problem tonight. But in general I like the rotations / roles on the team. I'd keep the starting lineup intact a while longer.
I wonder if that Wilcox for Bass swap would give that unit more of the balance it needs.

Been saying it since last season, glad to see you coming around to the idea :P

I am not sure about Wilcox + Bradley alongside Rondo.

I was fully behind Wilcox starting when Ray Allen was still in the starting lineup. I wanted Wilcox to take over the starting spot as far back as when Jermaine O'Neal was still the starter here.

That said, to go back to my uncertainty about Wilcox now -- I am still not sure Bass' jump-shooting isn't a better fit for the starting unit with Bradley in there alongside Rondo but if the starting unit continues to struggle and Wilcox starts rebounding the ball like he has done throughout his career, then I think swapping Bass for Wilcox is a change worth exploring.

Instead of going for the layup Rondo tries a woopty di doop fallaway, off balance, floater right into asik who easily blocks it.

Yes, that's a much better idea that driving right at slow as molasses "free FTs" asik.

Bass' jumper is still off. That's the problem. It happens, especially to guys who aren't high volume shooters. If he's not hitting it, he looks pretty average. It'll come around and Bass will be a big asset for us (either on the team, or via a trade). Its annoying right now...but Bass is a very good shooter. I think all the role changes and changing minutes impacted his game...but hopefully it'll all come around soon.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Just tuned in. Glancing at the box score, the bench really pops out. Wow, we really are deep!   :D

Interesting that the Celtics haven't shot a free throw yet. I expect some whistle benefits in the 2nd half. Lets bury the Rockets!

Go Celtics!

Surprisingly, there hasn't been a play that I've felt really warranted us getting free-throws that I recall.

I agree

Bass' confidence looks pretty low right now.

He is the odd man out at the moment. Just not as involved as he was last year. Doesn't know how to get himself going. Looks disheartened. Doesn't know what to do.

And PP is top of the score sheet. Finally. Some production from the starters.

Pierce is a tank. He can still do serious damage out there, despite the lack of speed and lift. He's in a nice rhythm tonight.
