I do not feel bad for Sacramento at all. They have a team not that far away in oakland called the Golden State Warriors.
also, what about Kansas City fans? You realize the kings were there before Sacramento?

You're right about that. Looks like a summer job that became permanent

I'm really happy for Sonics fans, but sad for Kings fans. I can't even imagine losing the C's.

Now the question is what team will end up with the 2nd pick in the lottery?

You're forgetting that as a condition of approving the sale, Stern will require the Sonics to send their 2013, 2014 and 2015 draft picks to the Lakers.

Sacramento had a million chances to get exported for a mew arena from the Maloofs, but didn't come through. So now their team is gone. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
Now the Portland-Seattle rivalry becomes juicier, with Paul Allen owning Portland and Steve Ballmer owning Seattle. Allen claims that Ballmer and Bill Gates worked to bounce him from Microsoft when Allen was battling cancer.
I'm thrilled for Seattle. The double whammy of losing your team and losing a future HOFer and possibly all timer in Kevin Durant was most cruel.

I'm happy for Seattle...bring back the Good Ole Days :
Somewhere, Ray Allen, Gary Payton, Kemp, Detlef Shrempf, Derrick McKey, Dale Ellis, Nate McMillan, Xavier McDaniel - are smiling.
And GP is a nominee for the HOF this year, too - one of..perhaps "The" best Defensive PG ever.
Good for Seattle!
Nice post. I'm very happy for Seattle. An under appreciated sports town.

I feel for the Sacramento fans though. They basically got "Seattle'd" by the Maloofs.

"Basketball now offers a mad confection of absurdities, with ladder-sized groundlings stretching their gristle in aerial dogfights amid the whistle screeches of apoplectic referees trying to enforce ridiculous rules that empty the game of interest." -Shirley Povitch, The Washington Post, 1957
