Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard Almost Fight in the Locker Room

The LA Lakers have had their fair share of problems to start the NBA season. They are currently 15-18 and three spots out of the playoff picture in the West.  The acquisition of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard in the off-season haven't quite panned out as they planned.  Nor has the addition of new head coach Mike D'Antoni who clearly isn't on the level of Phil Jackson.

With all that said, we all know how Kobe Bryant takes losing.  Not good, not good at all.  Bryant called out big man Dwight Howard in the locker room and blows were almost thrown. Check out the story from the NY Daily.

A league source told the Daily News that the Lakers stars got into a heated exchange following a New Year’s Day loss to the 76ers, and Bryant went for a low blow – referencing and agreeing with Shaquille O’Neal’s criticisms of Howard being soft.

Howard was restrained from going at his teammate, according to the source, and there have been rumblings from the center’s camp that he’s been unhappy with Bryant since earlier in the season.

Probably not smart of Kobe.  Dwight is twice his size and I'm guessing he doesn't like the Shaq reference very much.  Bryant likes to stir things up a bit to get his teammates motivated, but apparently Dwight doesn't like that path.  Not good for the Lakers.  Hopefully they can hug it out and take their fight to the other teams on the court.
