Just curious. I know I am reading too much into it, but it looked like KG, Paul and Rondo were really chummy with Josh Smith after the game last night (I know Rondo and Smith are friends.)

If the Celts can somehow sneak one past Atlanta like they did Minny with KG, and land Josh Smith either at the deadline or next summer (S & T), then doesn't Boston become a destination for Dwight Howard?

I know Howard and J Smith are friends and I think all of a sudden (at least on paper) Boston looks pretty darn good with Rondo, Smith and DH as part of the starting 5.

Heck at that point, I would think KG wouldn't even mind coming off the bench

Just a thought I guess

PS..anyone else catch what Howard said about the Lakers? (lol.)

I don't think there would be any realistic way to sign him under the cap rules.

I'm honestly not interested in having Howard on the Celtics. Can't stand the guy.

If your still interested in Josh Smith joining the Celtics after last night, you need therapy. He does not make teams contenders. Stop for the sake of everyone with the trade ideas. Please.

It would be one of the worst free throw shooting teams in the history of the NBA-

Rondo-.629
Howard- .511
Smith-.537

We would need to be up by ten plus nightly to sustain the end of the game fouling barrage that would occur nightly against us. When Rondo is the best FT shooter out of the 3, you know the end of the game would be the stuff of nightmares.

Let this current team continue to grow and lets see where things fall at the end.

Defensively we would we amazing, but Hack-a-Rondo-Howard-Smith would beat us a lot.

We might as well put Tyrion in at center.

I don't want Dwight Howard.

Btw, Cousins shoots 77.7% FT line. Just saying.

So what do you think about a 3 way trade where the Celts land Howard and Smith?

I think most people would be interested in a deal where Smith and Green are the centerpieces. I don't necessarily think Atlanta would go for it, unless they receive one of Bradley / Sullinger and a pick, but it keeps them from losing Smith for nothing. As everybody else has said a million times, it really just depends on what other gms think about Green.

Landing Dwight seems somewhat impossible unless we trade Pierce/KG or [of course] Rondo...I guess you never know, though.

We won't be getting either player.

I want NO part of Howard.  He is NOT a center piece type player.  He needs someone else to be the leader.

Atlanta is unlikely trade Smith.  Only chance the C's have getting him is if Pierce and KG retire.  And only then if KGs salary comes off the books (not sure).

I cannot see Atlanta wanting anything we would actually offer.

Eh. The C's are playing better. But we're a ways away from serious title contention. Right now, we're still behind the Heat and the Knicks in the Eastern Conference. And there's no way we're going to survive the Western Conference and the big men they have out there.  Unless Rondo can consistently go for 10+ rebounds per game, we'd struggle.

As far as Josh Smith,  he had a bad game last night. He'll still likely be an All-Star this year (and should've been last year). He's a very talented player.

In close games, Celtics fans are an emotional mess: "We want Rondo to shoot, we don't want him to shoot, we don't know what the hell we want."

This team cannot and will not win the title as is. Too weak at the center position.

Welllll....

Just sayin' :).

We DO need to shore up KG, but with him at Center we are not weak at all.

No chance in hell I want that winey pain in the butt in Boston.  The guy's maturity level makes DMC look like a the ultimate role model by comparison.  He's an absolute fruit loop and prima Donna who expects that he should get early above coaches and GM's about how a team should be run.

Absolute moron, and if he ever comes to Boston I will never watch a Celtics game again.  At least not for another season, because by then he'll be demanding a trade.
